"I was thinking about going on a hike," Daphne said to me as we were gathering our things to go back home, "After the annual dinner, that is. Maybe the next day or something" She continued, "It has been ages since I last went for one and I think it is about time I connect with nature again"
I zipped my bag and switched off my computer, "I haven't hiked in a very long time too" I stated blankly, making sure I took everything I needed.
From the corners of my eyes, I saw her whip her head to the side to look at me so fast that I heard a c***k in her neck, "Oh, maybe we can hike together" She suggested, rubbing the back of her neck in an attempt to soothe the discomfort, "It will be fun!" She added when I looked at her unsurely.
