“No!” Tilly yelled. “This way!” She jumped up and down, waving her arms about, while Jayshu rushed forward and splashed into the river. After one more shout, Tilly gave up and hurried after him. Both Yadira and the dragon were in the river, which was about waist-high at its deepest point, and wasn’t flowing particularly fast. Yadira was doing her best to shield herself from the dragon’s flames, but Tilly could see heat shimmering in the air where the layer of shield magic had begun to weaken.
