Chapter 5

1260 Words
Luis stood at the door surprised, his brother never locks. The key turned, door swinging open. “What do you want Luis?” he asked coldly. “Morning to you too” he said walking past his brother. The bathroom door opened, the person he least expected came out. “Lady Meryln!” Luis exclaimed with a grin looking at at her then his brother who gave him a cold stare. She was still wearing the gown she wore at the banquet which meant she never left. No wonder his brother’s door was locked. “Forgive me Your Highness I will come back later” he said mischievously heading to the door but a dagger flew inches past him and plunge on the door. “Meryln! Do you realise that you almost sliced my ear off in my home, in my kingdom?”This woman was really crazy with a death wish. “Why did you invite me when you knew your evil cousin will be attending?” Her eyes were glaring at him. “What?” Luis blue eyes were staring innocently at her. “Are you trying to hand me to him now?” she pressed on. “That’s absurd, I did not even know he was attending.” It suddenly dawned on him that she was not the type to just jump into anyone’s bed even if that bed belonged to his brother. “Wait, did he hurt you?” Luis was an open book, Meryln knew from his reaction that he had nothing to do with Theo coming for her. “He put something on my nose, probably a sedative because I got so drowsy but I managed to get away and ended up here.” “Chloroform, that’s what the physician who examined you suspected” Scot who has been watching the interaction closely finally broke his silence. The feeling he had yesterday watching them dance creeping in again. Even though she threw a dagger at Luis, Meryln definitely related to Luis better than she did with him and other royals. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have ran after Isabella and left you exposed like that.” Scot’s heart leaped, if his brother was freely stating that he ran after another women, does it mean their relationship was unlikely to be romantic or serious? “I’m a big girl, I don’t need a knight in a shining armour to rescue me.” Luis rolled his eyes, that was so typical Meryln then his eyes widened. “I heard that he is admitted with broken ribs, you did that didn’t you?” “If I wasn’t so sleepy I would have killed that monster. Next time I will” she said angrily with blazing eyes. “Do you need a lift home?” He couldn’t be more proud of his crazy friend for fighting back. “No need, I gave her grandmother my word that I will personally bring her when she awoke” Scot interjected. “You spoke to Nana?” Her eyes shifted to Scot for the first time since Luis walked in. “Obviously. They would have come here looking for you when you didn’t return home. Your driver would also be waiting outside” How could she think he was so irresponsible. “Thank you” Her Nana would have a heart attack if she went missing and her driver, Ben would have waited until late and searched for her everywhere when she didn’t show up. “You actually do know some manners, it’s good to know” He sad with no emotion in his voice. “Clearly, you didn’t deserve my manners before” she snapped at him. Luis looked at the people in front of him amused at their bickering and left without commenting. Meryln looked outside the window avoiding Scot who was sitting opposite her. “The driver can stop if you want to marvel at my beautiful kingdom” he teased knowing very well that she was avoiding him. “No need Your Highness” She just wanted to get home and forget about him and the passionate kiss they shared. Her face burned every time their eyes met. “We are here Your Highness” the driver announced, getting off to open the doors. “Thank you,Your Highness” she said opening the door herself and ran off to the house without looking back. Scot got off and looked around. He has been curious about Livingdale since the day he found out that she lived there. Meryln was clearly from wealth, her home was truly beautiful. The mansion was much bigger than the royal general’s homes. In front was massive well maintained gardens with butterflies flipping their colourful wings and birds beautiful melodies filling up the air. At the bottom was the majestic Form river that surrounded and formed boundaries of his kingdom. He could see small boats swinging sideways, looking further on was his royal port. That meant from his own port he could clearly see and even sail across Meryln’s home but has never paid attention to it before. “Your Highness, it is an honour to have you in our home. Please forgive my grandchild for not inviting you inside” The soft voice he spoke to the night before said. He smiled at the grey haired woman bowing in front on him. Her soft voice reminded him of his late grandmother. “It is an honour to meet you Ma’am, you have a beautiful home.” “You are too kind Your Majesty.” “I brought Meryln back, I apologise for the incident that happened in my palace. The physician assures me that she was not harmed. I give you my word that the culprit will be punished.” “Thank you Your Majesty.” Theo was laying in the royal suite in Queen Lydia hospital making the most outrageous orders to the nurses and hospital cook when Scot walked in. “Your Majesty” the employees said in unison bowing down. “Cousin what an honour for you to visit me” Theo beamed. Now everyone will know how important he is to have an heir to the throne visit him. Scot stared at him without expression. “There is a footage of you drugging a young woman outside my banquet hall last night.” Theo’s eyes widened, how could he be so stupid. He always targeted commoners because it was easy to intimidate them to silence afterwards. Meryln gave him sleepless nights ever since she escaped him the first time. When he saw her dancing with Luis last night he just wanted to get to her so bad he did not think about being caught on camera. Scot’s expression was so cold and demeaning. “I’m sure you remember that incident very well because that is how you sustained those rib fractures. This kingdom does not take lightly anyone that preys on woman. All your royal privileges have been suspended for a year with immediate effect.” “Cousin please have mercy on me, I was foolish” Theo was now on his knees shaking. He will be a laughing stock if he lost his privileges and will never be considered for positions. Scot looked at him coldly. “Your mother is the only reason you are not executed. However if I find out that you harmed another women, there will be no mercy for you” He commanded the nurses to remove Theo from the royal suite before leaving.
