Chapter 23

Zyair pov My breathing was low when I lay down in the bed. My only thought was that. I saw her. And I did. She was here. That was the only thought that clouded my thinking and I couldn’t wait to meet her. Eventually. “You can’t keep Letting him protect you. You should be the one protecting him. You shouldn’t be a weak wolf...” I heard Franco scolding him. Creamy was doing his best for me. I only let him fight when I noticed the opponent is weaker than him. But if he’s stronger. I won’t let him or we’ll attack him together. That was how we’ve been living. “I know. And I want to be better. I want to train more and protect him. Even if I’m not a beta but I wanna be strong as one..” “But you guys can’t stay here.” “We’ve nowhere else to go?” “Staying here is not an option, the wolves will come and they would wanna start a war.” “He’s too weak to even move from here. He might not survive if we decide to leave again.” I didn’t hear Franco’s voice, probably he was thinking, the medicine man came in at that moment. He was gonna check on me. Though I could hear I couldn’t say anything. I just had my lips shut. Staring at nothing. But those green eyes won’t just go off my head. Those eyes that I wanted to see again. “Maybe he’s the one..” “What do you mean?” “Keep your voice low, he needs some quiet.” “If he can bring the wolves together. If he can bring life to the salmon wolves. We’ll surrender. And I’ll be right behind him. And you too.” When I lift I lift my eyes I saw him tapping him on the shoulder that was when I was injected and slid into unconsciousness. When I opened my eyes, it was a month after. They said I had been lying there without waking up and they thought I was dead. I was. And I had a dream, a good one. A sweet one and she was in it. The fight between the salmon wolves started for the entire remaining year. Franco stood by us. Like he had said and he was my Beta, though Creamy was my true Beta. He didn’t send us out, probably after Creamy had told him about our past. I was still gonna go back to my root, back to the moonlight pack because I was the alpha and I would prove to everyone that I had nothing with my father's death. Getting the salmon wolves to be part of us and gain their trust and support wasn’t the easiest thing for me. It has worn me. Tore me and almost had me killed. The house we were in was attacked at night. The wolves wanted us to leave, scared of being controlled again by a dictator. We were able to come into a dialogue and I was given a little time to prove to them that I was worth it. At those time I didn’t forget about her, I wanted to establish my stand in the foreign land that I was in. And each time secretly sends Creamy to find her. She could be somewhere among the rogue, hiding. And after a f*****g year had passed, when I was fully recognized as the alpha of the salmon pack. It was that year I saw her. Or she came to me, probably she was tired of waiting. I was going on a search with Creamy, we wanted to go into the forest and search for her like we had done the past few days. On our way out of the packhouse. We saw Franco and the other wolves running after someone in a hoodie. I steady my step and began walking toward her. She was running so fast. Her speed wasn’t anything I’d seen before. Then I remembered there was someone who run this fast a year ago. And that someone was her. She crushed into me, without being aware that I was standing in front of her. At that brief moment, her eyes were on me. “Little one..” I smiled. It was her. My mate. My green eyes. “What took you so long” I doubt if she heard me saying that. As Franco then made he attacked her. And she fell in my hands. I growled at him. Max was already mad and wanted to hurt him for what he did. But I decided to calm him down since he wasn’t aware. I carried her in my hands, walking back to the house. My mate was here and I was never letting go of her again.
