10 He Kisses Me

Angelo’s POV Harper truly was beautiful, but her beauty was different from Sophia's. There was a vitality about her. At first, my approach toward her carried ulterior motives, but now, I couldn’t tell if my feelings for her were about business or my heart. “Angelo, do you really like Harper? Sure, she’s pretty, but she seems boring, huh?” I followed his gaze, seeing the girl floating in the sea. I understood what he meant. Harper was reserved, not like the kind of girl who’d scream for you in bed. I’ve slept with many women, and to be honest, if it wasn’t for the arranged marriage, I wouldn’t have looked at a girl like Harper. But now, I have different thoughts. The smile on my lips froze for a moment. “If you like w.hores, go find one. Who gave you the guts to judge my woman?” Everyone here today was the heir of some family. But being an heir depended on the strength of the family, and the Moretti and Conti families were undoubtedly at the top. Others could only defer to us. This man knew what my relationship with Harper was about, so he felt comfortable speaking casually. However, my reaction made him reevaluate Harper’s position in my heart. “You weren’t interested in an arranged marriage before, were you?” My gaze followed her clumsy figure, and my voice softened involuntarily. “She’s much more interesting than I imagined. Maybe an arranged marriage isn’t such a bad idea after all.” After all, things are still interesting now. Harper’s POV It was almost noon, and the clouds had scattered. The beach and ocean were bathed in golden sunlight, and the sea seemed to shimmer as it turned warm. I tilted my head back, feeling the sun gently caressing me. Sophia was playing beach volleyball. Cheer practice was already exhausting enough, and during my downtime, I didn’t want to be around a crowd. Waves splashed around me, and I closed my eyes to feel the tides. But suddenly, a small wave hit, and I realized I had drifted farther from the shore. An ominous feeling swept over me immediately. That brief moment of peace was drowned by fear of the water. Worse yet, I had nothing with me but my float—no way to call for help that anyone could hear. But I had to shout. Maybe someone would hear me. “Is anyone there? Help…” I drifted farther out, a wave crashing over me, pulling me underwater before I managed to come back up clinging to my float. After bobbing up and down for a while, I was almost in despair. Was I really going to die here today? Another wave pulled me under, but then, a pair of arms grabbed me. I couldn’t open my eyes underwater. The feeling of drowning made me exhausted and terrified. The water was silent; all I could hear was my heartbeat. Then something cold pressed against my lips. I felt someone giving me air. My instinct to survive made me cling to my source of oxygen. When I was finally brought to the shore, I was so disoriented that I almost lost consciousness. My rescuer kept pressing my chest, and I coughed out several mouthfuls of water, finally coming to my senses. The first thing I saw was Marco’s grim face. I realized that he had saved me. He looked so angry. It had to be because I had caused trouble for him again. I tried to move back, trying to make myself as small as possible. But he didn’t give me the chance. He grabbed my ankle and pulled me beneath him. What was he doing? He leaned over me as I lay on the sand. With his back to the sun, I couldn’t see his expression—only the rise and fall of his chest. His body loomed over me like a mountain. Terrified, I closed my eyes and turned my face away. The next moment, I felt his breath on my collarbone. We were too close. “Look at me.” He pressed my chin with two firm fingers, forcing my face up. I could hear the danger in his voice. “Angelo…” I instinctively tried to call for help. “Angelo,” Marco's cold face twisted into a mocking smile. He leaned in closer, his breath hot on my ear. “It seems you still don’t understand.” Before I could fully grasp his words, Marco suddenly leaned down, his lips crashing onto mine without warning. He kissed me! His kiss was fierce, forceful—like a storm overwhelming my world. Marco’s kiss was so sudden and aggressive that I could hardly breathe. His hand gripped my back firmly, holding me in place with an intensity that left no room for resistance. I felt the heat of his lips, his body pressing against mine, my heart pounding wildly in my chest. He finally stopped, his gaze fixed on mine, filled with complex emotions and suppressed desire. I tried to say something, but no sound came out—I could only stare at him in shock. “Harper,” his voice was low and magnetic. “You have no idea what kind of dangerous game you’re playing.” I stayed silent, my mind in chaos, unsure how to respond to him. He suddenly reached out to stroke my cheek, his fingers brushing lightly against my skin as if to confirm something. His raspy voice broke the silence again, “Why are you dating Angelo?” I was stunned. “Isn’t that what you all wanted?” He let out a soft laugh, his voice dripping with mockery. “You have no idea what I want.” His words shocked me. I could hardly believe what I was hearing. He looked at me, his eyes glinting with something unreadable. I felt his fingers trailing along my cheek, and then he suddenly leaned in, kissing me again. This time, the kiss was even more intense, filled with uncontrollable desire and desperation. His tongue invaded my mouth, leaving me almost breathless. I could feel his pain and struggle, those overwhelming emotions crashing down on me like a storm. I tried to push him away, but my body wouldn’t respond—I could only let him continue this suffocating kiss. Marco’s POV Her lips were soft and sweet, and I felt her body trembling slightly in my arms. The sensation made me crave more, but it also filled me with pain. Harper was like a drug I couldn’t quit. “Do you really love Angelo?” I asked her. She stayed silent. That silence unleashed the demon inside me that I could no longer suppress. I leaned closer, my fingers trailing across her cheek. “Harper, do you know? Once something is touched, it can never be let go.” She trembled slightly, and I smiled. Harper, without my permission, you will never become someone else's bride.
