Chapter Two
It was finally lunch time, and I was on my way to find Jenna and Peter when I saw that new kid. He saw me and instantly walked off. I probably should have just let it go but I want to know what the hell his problem was... So, I followed him.
He headed down the hallway towards the Math's department. Weird, Why was he coming down here? This section of the department was for college students.. And he wasn’t a college student.
'I know you’re following me' He suddenly said, not turning around or stopping. I froze, panicked. How did he know? Wait, maybe he didn't mean me. I stopped and dived into one of the open classrooms. Hoping he would walk off. He didn't seem bothered before. After waiting for a few minutes and no sound of him returning, I crept out carefully, only to jump when he popped up from behind a set off lockers.
'Why are you following me?' He asked, crossing his arms, he didn't sound too happy.
'I..um..I-I...Why do you care if I was?' I shot back. His face seemed to relax a little and he smiled.
'Well, good point' I smiled and walked down the hallway, he come with me. 'But really, why were you following me?'.
'I didn't mean to, I wanted to talk to you about this morning. If you got offended by anything I said, Im really sorry' I told him wholeheartedly.
‘It’s fine. I apologise too, i probably shouldn’t have flown off the handle at you like that, it was uncalled for’. I nodded, excepting his apology. ‘So, Why are you wasting your lunch time break stalking me around the school?’
‘True. I gotta go, I have to find my friends’. He smiled and I turned around and ran back down the call, ‘Maybe I’ll see you around sometime!’ I shouted without looking back.
The whole school campus was massive, I had no idea where Peter and Jenna were, They could be in the courtyard, The lunch room... Or.. making out in a closet somewhere. Probably be easier and quicker to just text her;
Hey Jen, Where the hell are you guys? X
I waited for a few minutes for a text back. Luckily, It wasn’t too long before my phone beeped. It wasn’t Jen though… It was from Peter.
Hey, Jenna didn’t feel well, so i took her home. Won’t be back today though, hopefully, be back to school tomorrow. Jem said sorry x
I let out a loud sigh. Great, I’m on my own for the rest of the day. Perfect. Honestly, I just wanted someone to talk to. After what Mr Taylor said, I just wanted a friend.
Walking over to the benches, I said down and crossed my arms. There was still over half an hour left of lunch, and I had nothing to do. I put my crossed arms on the table in front of me and rested my head.
I was shattered, i hadn’t been sleeping at home lately. As my mind started wondering, My eyes slowly closed and before I knew it, everything went black.

The sound of a bell ringing shocked me awake. I looked around, confused, It took me a second to realise where I was.. and then I remembered. School. No one was around.
That's weird.
If the Lunch bell has only JUST gone, there should be some people still out here, But, It was deserted. I checked my phone and groaned. It wasn't the bell signally the end of lunch, it was the bell telling me it was the end of school.
I slept through my last three classes.
Fuck sake!
I yawned loudly and stood up, Stretching before I walked across the field towards the school.
The school hallways were empty. I walked to my locker, dreaded the idea of going home. Somewhere down the hallway, the Cleaning ladies had clearly got to work, the smell of bleach was in the air.
Opening my locker, I grabbed my school bag and flung it over my shoulder before slamming my locker shut again. When i did, A little piece of paper fell to the floor. Did that come out of my locker? Bending down, i picked it up and read it. Instantly rolling my eyes in annoyance afterwards.
Julie, I need to talk to you about some of your projects. Please come to my office as soon as you can.

Shaking my head and deciding it can wait till tomorrow, I turned around and headed home.
