21: Shopping Spree

I went through the day's schedule with Alex after breakfast, before we left for the site.

“ You are not much needed today, take some rest or tour the city, whatever you please.” Roaming in Kampala streets it is. I thought but only nodded at his suggestion and turned to leave, but he grabbed my hand, halting my steps.

Finding my way around the streets was easy due to the people. They were so helpful, and friendly, I ended up staying for six hours straight in town. I visited an open market where I got Ma, Ben, and Amy some gifts. I even got Yusuf a keychain he would love.

By the time I got back to the hotel, I had tons of shopping bags weighing on my arms. I was about to swipe my key card when I saw Alex approaching.

“ I have been waiting for you,” he said, and I smiled sheepishly as his eyes scanned the shopping bags I was carrying. I had turned down the concierge's offer to carry them for me.

“ They are not all mine,” I mumbled, judging his amused expression.

“ Souvenirs?” He smirked, taking the key card from me and swiped opening the door. “How was your day?” He asked, stepping aside to let me in.

“ I toured around for hours, and it was wonderful. I got a taste of some local dishes. “ I explained gleefully, and Alexander was an excellent listener.

He took a seat on the bed and watched me unpack everything I had bought silently. Apart from his short remarks, he didn't say much as I transferred everything to my suitcase.

“ Have you had dinner?” I asked once I was done.

“ No, I was waiting for you.”

“Ooh…”

“ We can have room service tonight and tomorrow try some local restaurants in town if you don't mind.”

“ That's okay by me," I answered. “ I will join you in your suite after a quick shower. "

“Hurry," he said, leaving.

I knocked on his door shyly, fighting to reign my scandalous thoughts. Back in the shower, I couldn't help but think of him and the bizarre situation we have going on. I am determined to have much of him this week to last me for a lifetime. Alex opened the door and led me towards the balcony, where he had assorted food arranged. I gave him a grateful smile as I took the juice goblet he handed me. “ Thanks, this looks amazing. "

“ Let's eat,” He ordered, and we dug in to our satisfaction. We decided to chill by the sitting area sipping our beverages quietly, just enjoying each other's company. These rare moments are what made me fall harder for Alex, despite my prior resolve. How could I not when the yummy-looking gentleman continues to glance at me like he can't keep his eyes to himself?

“ Do you like me?” I asked after having an internal battle. Though he once said we can't happen, we never spoke of his feelings for me, and it's confusing. Mainly because the two close people in his life has hinted about his interest in me. I doubt they would say that if they didn't know something that I don't.

I honestly didn't expect Alex to answer me, but when he nodded his head warily, my heart did a flip as butterflies filled my belly. I gazed at him, imploring him to explain more of which he did.

“I do like you Christian, I might be loving you even. " His utterance showed just how serious he was. “ I don't want to lose you, but I can't ask you to wait with no probable chance of me giving you what you want. This trip I am supposed to figure out if I can or cannot do it,” he explained, understanding dawning on me.

“ What if you can't?” I asked, dreading his answer.

“Then my selfish ass will have to let you go, for good, this time. I will never bother you again.”

“ Sounds fair,” I admitted.

“ And If you wish to transfer to a different department, I will make it easy. " Alex added, having as usual thought through everything.

“ I want to work for you, either way. " I informed, deciding that we had enough serious talk. I climbed on his lap and started seducing the man and since I knew he felt something for me, I aimed at showing him exactly what he would be missing in case… And If this is the only week we have together, I will make it count.

“ This c*ck seems to know what it wants, maybe you should take lessons,” I whispered seductively, freeing his semi-ready to turn our night into a steamy one.
