Christian aggressively wiped at his lips and stared at the pink lipstick that now stained his lips as well. He shook his head to come out of his state of confusion, then chased after Jessie. "What the hell? One minute you are kissing me, the next you are screaming in my face.'' He shouted after her, but because of his state of shock, he moved too slow to catch up with her. That kiss had his senses running wild, his every being had come alive at the sensation. He had always heard about the effect that one's mate had on the other, but he never knew it would be this strong. He was in a daze, and if it was for the familiar scents of his home, he would have lost it. Christian walked to her door and gentle knock, ''Jessie, are you ok, what did I do?'' All he heard was sobbings from inside, but because she locked the door, it made it impossible to go comfort her. Of course, Christian could easily break the door down, but he didn't want to frighten her off. About to call again, he heard her voice. ''I know you can hear me. Can you just give me some time to adjust to all this, please?'' "But Jessie.'' "Christian, just leave me alone for a little while. This is all too much for me to take in. Please, just understand that?'' Christian nodded even though she couldn't see him, understanding her need for privacy. So he made his way downstairs and to the kitchen. Everyone, the workers included. Has already gone to bed, so he was on his own. His mother had once told him to not give the workers any time off, she only saw them as slaves and if it wasn't for Christian intervening, she would have treated them as such, but it just wasn't in him to work someone else to the bone, day and night for pleasure? Christian span around the kitchen, before opening up the cabinet in the top right-hand corner, pulled out a bottle of Scotch and poured himself a drink, the rich smooth liquid flowed down his throat as he contemplated how to win Jessie over, how to let her see that he loved and cared for her. "Poor little thing, probably hasn't experienced such pleasure before or even an ounce of affection, maybe not even in the slightest. Her father doesn't seem to be capable of such a thing, while her mother acts as if she is a brain-dead zombie, just floating in the wind and going wherever her husband takes her." Christian said to himself as he took another drink. Jessie made sure Christian was really gone before she made her way over to the bed and curled up in a ball to continue crying. Remembering all the times a man got too close, and caused nothing but trauma. The last boyfriend Jessie had, she ran from him, just like with Christian. All because she thought he would have hurt her. Even though Christian doesn't seem like the type, she just couldn't help it, besides she has read way too much about wolves, for just his kind words to put her mind at ease. After twenty minutes of crying and feeling sorry for herself, Jessie got up and take a shower. Her eyes formed into saucers at the size of her bathroom. Which was the biggest bathroom she has ever seen, made entirely of glass, marble and chrome. Jessie took her time to admire the rest of the bathroom, which was bigger than her both her dorm room, and her old shared room. The ceramic tiles and countertops seemed to cost more than her house. There were two sinks and two toilets, which she found odd, a large twin tub off to the side of the shower, and a large shelf stacked with towels and robes. "Wow.'' Jessie chimed, wondering if all this was really hers or if Christian will laugh in her face later on. Jessie picked up a random bar of soap and twisted it in her hands. "Not because he's rich means he's nice. These people always hold a dark side, not to mention him being a werewolf and might just be temperamental." Jessie said, then threw the soap on the ground, only to pick it up and place it back where she got it from. Jessie tried to ignore the overwhelming feeling she has, thinking that a cold shower was what she needed to wake herself up. Her only problem now was getting out of her dress, which wasn't a simple task; she spent maybe ten minutes struggling just to get the zipper down, then maybe another ten struggling to unlace the bodice and removing the thing completely. She discord of it in a heap in the corner, wishing to never see it again. Then she stepped into the shower and stared at the dials for a while, not having the slightest idea of how to turn the shower on. The first button she pressed somehow flushed the toilet. "What. How the?'' Jessie said out loud in confusion. She squinted her eyes like that would help, then press another button, causing scorching hot water to rain down on her. Shrinking back, she tried to turn it off, but only made it hotter. Jessie pressed random buttons until the water gushed out from the ones on the wall. "Hah,'' she put her hand up to her face to prevent water from going up her nose. Then stamped out of the shower, breathing hard. She stepped back inside, giving it one last try, but to no avail, so she gave up. "That's enough showing and water for one day." She said, leaving the taps on. Jessie belched as she towelled off and made her way to her light pink colour closet; she span around in the spacious area. Surprise to see that someone had it fully stocked with clothes, from trousers to skirts. Trainers to heels, dresses, handbags, sunglasses, you name it. The room was looking like a Chanel or Dior store. There was a spiral staircase that lead to a second-floor, which held more clothes and make-up that Jessie didn't think she would wear, and the finest pieces of jewellery. Her eyes were sparkling by now at all these fancy things. After her amazement wore off, she searched all the rotating racks for something thing to wear; she settled on a light blue sundress and decided to go in search of Christian to apologise to him. Not knowing where to go after checking Christian's room. Jessie soon moved on to search the other rooms. After seeing that some were locked, some were empty, and a few had occupants who weren't so happy with her barging into their rooms. She gave up on searching the third floor and made her way downstairs and to the kitchen, where she found him nursing a glass of scotch. "Hey.'' Jessie walked up to him. Christian looked up with a smile. ''hi.'' "I'm sorry about how I was, about running from you. It's just that I'm scared. Scared of getting close to another man and all of this.'' She twisted her fingers as she talked. "It's ok, I'm guessing that it's because of the way your father has treated you in the past, but just know that I will never hurt you. And you can always share anything with me.'' Christian assured her. Jessie nodded, ''um, can I get something to eat, please?'' "Yes, of course.'' Christian placed his glass down for the first since he got to the kitchen, he moved so fast he became a blur, and Jessie go cross-eyed trying to keep up with him as he closed the refrigerator and microwave. "Coming right up.'' He announced, coming to stand before her again. "Werewolf, right? Can you show me?'' Jessie asked. She had never come across a werewolf before, let alone thought she would marry one. Christian seemed to think about it and shook his head. ''I don't want to scare you off.'' "Ok, do you need a full moon in order to change? Wait, no. Does wolf's bane really cause you any harm?'' Jessie fired questions, trying to know how wolves works. It is like a dream for her and if she's going to live here, she might as well know all the wolf stuff. And she was sure he would want to know about vampires, how they live, but more importantly, how she lived. Christian raised a brow. Jessie watched as his face displayed various emotions as he thinks. "You don't have to tell me, especially about the bane thing. I mean, I wouldn't try to do anything to you. Vervain still messes me up. I remember one time my younger sister gave me the tea to drink to see what would happen. We almost died.'' Jessie rushed out. Christian gave a chuckle but didn't respond, leaving her to think that she must have upset him. The beeping of the microwave caused Jessie to jump. Again, she hardly had time to keep up with Christian's movement before he placed a steamy plate of vegetables, mashed potatoes and stake before her. "Eat up.''
