Chapter 10

2005 Words

Vic didn’t take the bait. He didn’t care if Kyle was seeing someone, didn’t want to hear about whoever it might be, and surely didn’t give a s**t what Kyle planned to do with the extra money. He wrote back simply. Thanks. As far as he was concerned, that was the end of the conversation. But Kyle was a nosy busybody and he wanted details. What are you doing next week? Getting married? He knew they were engaged; he’d seen Vic’s ring and even made a funny-not funny comment about how it could probably be seen from space. The look Vic had given him shut him up after that, but Matty thought it was funny when Vic told him about it later. “He’s just jealous, babe,” he’d said. “He can look but he can’t touch. You’re mine.” Vic didn’t think Kyle was interested in him, per se, but rather in them.
