It was only when Lucy got all the way back to the house, and saw an unfamiliar car parked on the drive, did she remember Ma’am had requested that her and the kids stay away until 5pm. It was a usual request for Ma’am to make of her and yet today it made Lucy sigh. She felt a little lost sometimes not having a proper home and after this morning, the opportunity to be alone in her room for a bit would have eased that feeling a little.
