I did survive despite not taking Rumulus's advise to be ruthless. She wasn't as fearsome as she had pretended to be. Her main interest was to cut off my head, which is all she tried to do. I let her tap despite having the opportunity to cut off her neck.
I glance in the direction of the kings and see that they are pretentiously applauding, like they wanted me to win.
Their queen is however fuming in her seat. She must be enraged that I didn't die, and is too stupid to think of hiding it.
I wave to the cheering crowd on my way out of the battlefield. "Show us your face!" Some shout but I keep walking like I cannot hear.
Ezra receives me with the proudest of smiles. He is exhilarated by my win, but my former best friend and her mate approaches before he can utter a word.
