Oh Goddess, what did I do? I didn’t know she was there with them. I know that if Reed had known she was here he wouldn’t have talked about punishments. The poor girl has had enough of that in her nine years of existence to last a lifetime. Jacob, Zane, Heather and Dawn may not know her story, but the rest of us do. I pulled her arms from around my waist, picked her up and carried her down to the table in the kitchen, asking everyone to follow. I pulled out a chair and set her down on it.
