Eve was out of breath by the time she climbed to the top of the hill and looked at the bar. Her eyes drifted over the building, taking in everything. It was more incredible up close than when she saw it from town. House Rules sat on top of a hill overlooking the town and the port. It could be seen from everywhere in town, like the town’s own little beacon. It looked like a renovated barn with faded dark wood, and was extended on the sides. It was shaped with a monitor roof that had one sole window toward the front of the building but a series of windows along the side.
