Chapter 16 || their marriage.

Jaemin watched Florence sleep peacefully. He sat down next to her and gently brushed her hair behind her ear and appreciated her beauty even while she was asleep. She moved a bit, getting cosied up against him which made him chuckle. "How is it possible to love you this much already?" He asked softly so he wouldn't wake her up. He was so sure that he wouldn't love anyone else. He was so sure that he even if he had married, he would simply just carry out the role of being a husband without actually feeling something. He tried doing that with Florence but there was something about her that made him drawn to her. He couldn't stop. It was addictive and strong. Florence was a good person and it was very evident in every action she made. It had been a while that Jaemin's mother wanted to spend time with her sons as well as her husband but they would all tell her the same excuse "caught up with work." Florence took the opportunity and gave Jaemin's mother what she wanted for a while. Family time. Jaemin often caught Florence drifting away from reality. It was like she was lost in her thoughts while she was enjoying her time with his family. He knew that she was thinking about something good and somehow it made him sad. Florence may not be speaking about how it was at home with her father but he was very much aware that her father wasn't someone who was loving. His heart broke out for her because it just showed how much she just wanted a family. She would be the happiest about the smallest things and watching her being happy about something as simple as having breakfast together made Jaemin wonder what it was like living at her house with her father. She seemed happier here and comfortable. Jaemin was relieved about it. At least she felt like she was home now and he would do anything to protect her and give her whatever she wanted. He knew that she didn't wanted much and it was clear what she wanted. It was love. That's all she wanted and needed. Jaemin heard a knock and heard someone walk in. He turned himself around and saw his mother walk in with a huge smile. She looked down at Florence and then at their hands intertwined. "She is even pretty while she is sleeping." Jaemin's mother said and sat down on the bed. Jaemin smiled and nodded her head while he looked back at his wife. "She is." "I wanted to thank her for what she did but it looks like she is tired." She chuckled. "Or maybe slightly drunk. I have never seen her drunk so much wine." Jaemin replied. Florence's cheeks were flushed red and her rosy lips looked more kissable. Jaemin looked at his mother. "I am glad that you opened your heart to her." She said. "She is someone worth opening your heart too. She is deserving of your love and so are you to hers. You both need to take care of each other." She continued. Jaemin nodded her head. "I will mother. I will always take care of her." He said. "So when are the grandchildren coming?" She asked. Jaemin widened his eyes and quickly looked away from his mother's face. He couldn't keep on looking into her eyes while she was trying to have this conversation with him. He was too ashamed about it. He cleared his throat and blinked a few times as he was becoming nervous. "I think we are both not really focusing on having a baby right now." He politely answered. He was already a bit sexually frustrated and his mother wasn't really helping him by having conversations about babies with him. Of course he wanted to start a family with her but at the same time he thought that it was a bit too early for that. He was finally getting out of his comfort zone. He wanted to take her to beautiful places. Enjoy his time with her and have his honeymoon face with her and after that, they could be thinking about children. Maybe by that time Jinwoo might have found someone or might be married already. "Ah. Come on. I am lonely in this house." She replied annoyed. Jaemin shook his head. "We will get you a dog." He said, making his mother laugh and groan at the same time. "I am going to sleep. Sleep well." She laughed and stood up from the bed. Jaemin felt relieved, knowing that she was leaving. He was getting so uncomfortable. "You know that I will ask her tomorrow about it." She said and before her son could protest against the idea of her, she escaped the room and ran. Jaemin sighed and looked back at Florence. What would she think if his mother asked him about starting a family? Would she want one? Jaemin shook his head and sighed. He was getting tired. He turned off the lights and got in bed next to Florence. He turned on his side trying to sleep but for some reason, he was restless. He couldn't fall asleep as he normally would. He sighed and turned to his other side and faced the sleepy Florence. He smiled and moving closer to her. He didn't really care. He wanted to hug her. He gave her a kiss on her cheek before pulling her closer to him. Florence moaned in her sleep and came closer to Jaemin while his arms welcomed her. Her head was resting on his chest while her arms were around his neck. Her lips were so close to him. He wanted to kiss it but stopped himself. He didn't wanted to do something without her consent and especially if she was sleeping. It felt like he was taking advantage of her and he didn't like that. He smiled while holding her tightly against him. "Johayo." He said underneath his breath as he could feel himself drifting to sleep. He didn't care about the consequences he would face when they both would wake up. He actually thought that she may like it. It was about time to break the distance between them and make it more natural than awkward. He wanted to sleep with her like this every day. This made him sleep better rather than sleeping on his own. Feeling her warmth and her small hands around him made him feel this comfort that he didn't feel before. The comfort of love. He didn't even realise that he needed this. He didn't realise that he needed Florence in his life. Florence groaned softly when she felt a heavy weight on top of her. At first, she didn't think much of it. She thought it must have been the blanket that just felt extra heavy but when she felt Jaemin's arm move around her waist, she spontaneously opened her eyes, the sleepiness was gone in an instant. With widen eyes, she looked at Jaemin who was just one centimetre away from her. She gulped down her saliva and put her head back. She didn't wanted to wake him up. He looked like he was still sound asleep. She bit her underlip and tried thinking of ways of how she could escape from him without really waking him up. 'How did we even sleep like this together?' She thought and tried remember but all she remembered as that she just fell asleep on the sofa in the living room and woke up here. It must have been Jaemin who hugged her like this or did she do it while she was asleep. While Florence was having a massive debate with herself in her mind, she failed to realise that Jaemin had been awake for the past half an hour, just waiting for her to wake up. "Good morning." He said in his morning voice, pulling her closer to his chest and hugging her tight. Florence immediately froze and she gasped softly. She didn't wanted to sound dramatic. She probably sounded like that and already wanted to give herself a hand full. Why was she like this? It wasn't like this was a bad thing. She shouldn't be freaking out like this. But her mind couldn't stay quiet and her heart felt like it was about to beat out of her chest. She was seriously trying to think whether this was even a normal heart rhythm. "Good morning." She replied. She didn't wanted to seem rude. Her hands were pressed against his chest and it didn't look like Jaemin was going to let go of her any time soon. Jaemin chuckled softly, knowing very well that Florence was freaking out but he couldn't help to find this adorable. "Did you have a good sleep?" He asked her while his eyes were closed. Florence hummed softly. "What about you?" She asked. Jaemin opened her eyes and now looked at her while she was still close in his arms. "I slept like a baby." He replied. Florence chuckled upon his reply and nodded her head. They stayed quiet for a while. Just stared in each other's eyes as if there was nothing they had to do. Jaemin was late for work and Florence had to prepare for another night shift today which she wasn't even sure if she should attend since what had happened. She didn't feel safe if she left the house without being guarded or being with Jaemin. "What?" She asked as they continued staring at each other. Jaemin shook her head and just smiled. "You look pretty." He said. That's when Florence realised that she must have fallen asleep with make up on her face. When she looked down at Jaemin's white t-shirt, she widened her eyes. It was all covered with make up and particularly with mascara marks. She quickly hid her face. She knew her face looked like a mess and probably her mascara was all smudged. "Show me your face." Jaemin laughed softly as he tried to remove her hands but Florence shook her head while she determinately held her hands in front of her face. She couldn't believe that she hadn't realised it sooner. Was he making fun of her? Florence wanted to kick him but at the same time, she wanted to escape and look at herself in the mirror and hoping that she didn't look so bad. The only was she would know was if Jaemin let her go but his grip around her body was so tight that she was sure she wouldn't be able to fight him off. She had to just be embarrassed. "Why are you hiding your beautiful face?" Jaemin chuckled softly. Florence groaned and tried to push him but it wasn't working. "Why didn't you tell me?" She asked sadly as she slowly removed her hands. She felt like a complete i***t. "Because you are beautiful either way." He responded. He smiled and came a bit closer. Their lips were just an inch away from one another. Florence first looked into his eyes and then looked down at his lips. She would be lying if she said she didn't wanted to kiss him. She wanted it for a very long time but at the same time, she didn't wanted to force onto him. Their relationship or marriage wasn't as simple. They didn't get married because they met at a young age and fell in love and wanted to spend the rest of each other's lives with one another. Both of them had their own reasons of getting married with one another and both of them were listening to their family. The reason Florence got married to Jaemin was because she was forced by her father and the reason Jaemin got married to Florence was due to financial reasons. Her father paid a large sum to Jaemin's father which they needed at the time. Jaemin never understood why. It wasn't like their father needed money. All three of them worked together. The office and the house was theirs. The people were getting paid as well as his father being able to save some money just if an emergency happened. He didn't question his father twice when he said that he needed money. He listened to him and went with what he said. Of course Jaemin was reluctant of getting married to a complete stranger. His parents actually didn't know any better either. His mother often came to him and trying to convince him that Florence would be an amazing person but at that time they both knew that it could have been the complete opposite. Jaemin was glad that it wasn't the case. Florence was everything he had ever wanted and wished for. "I probably look like a witch." Florence mumbled, trying to divert the kiss as she was feeling too nervous. She hated herself for this because at the same time, she just wanted him to kiss her. She couldn't even bring herself up to stare at him. Jaemin hummed. "You look like a cute witch though." He laughed. Florence glared at him. "Oh no. Will you curse me?" He asked shocked. Florence was ready to hit him but then stopped again. She realised her hands wouldn't be able to reach the target she wanted it too. The face. "You look like you are about to curse me right now." He continued. "You know what? Maybe I should." She snapped back and tried to push him but he didn't let her. Jaemin laughed and almost fell. He still held onto to her. "I won't let you go." He smiled. "You got me forever." Florence stopped pushing and looked at him. She was shocked by his words. Although, a husband was supposed to be like that. She would feel butterflies each time Jaemin would treat her special or tell her things like this. Her heart would beat so fast that it would make her feel sick but weirdly, she loved the feeling. "I know." She whispered as she looked at him. She knew that he wouldn't leave her side. She had realised that a long time ago. The day they married and the first night they had spend together. She knew that he was caring and thoughtful. She knew he was trying. Of course, as a girl she had always wanted more. She might have gotten married under weird circumstances but at the same time, she wanted to brag about her marriage to her co workers or to Minjun. She wanted to brag about her handsome husband and how caring he was. The flowers he would bring or the love he would give her. She just wanted to talk about it all day to any of her friends but of course, in the beginning of their wedding, it wasn't what she had expected to be. "I love you, Florence." Jaemin said while deeply looking into her eyes. Florence smiled shyly and nodded her head. For a few seconds, she felt like she was mute. She couldn't bring herself up to saying something and it made her feel like an i***t. It truly felt like a first time love which it actually was. Jaemin was the first person she loved in an intimate way. "I love you too, Jaemin." She replied. Jaemin chuckled softly and continued staring at her. "I want to record your voice and put it on a speaker so I can listen to it repeatedly." He joked. Florence laughed as she shook her head. "Babo." She replied. _ Hello, another chapter!
