Chanel's P.O.V
School was already over, and I made my way to the parking lot to enter the school bus. I saw Ian waiting beside a Ford Fusion Titanium Hybrid car, while typing away on his phone. "Ian!"
He looked up, and I waved at him. He only looked at me for a few seconds before looking back down at his phone, totally ignoring me. I frowned. Why didn't he acknowledge me?
I ignored his behavior and entered the bus. It's not like we were friends, and we just met today, but that didn't mean he should have ignored me though. Maybe he wasn't in a good mood.
After the awkward pushups we had during gym class, we didn't talk as much to each other. Or was he still flustered like I was?
When I got home, I heard noises from the kitchen, like someone was going through the drawers and cupboard. My parents wouldn't be home by now, and I wasn't expecting anybody, so who could be in the house?
I immediately took the umbrella I saw resting on the wall near the door, and tiptoed into the kitchen. I saw someone in a black hoodie going through the cupboard. I was about hitting the person on the head with the umbrella, when the person turned around.
"Cole?" I said dropping the umbrella.
"Hey, baby sis. Why are you holding an umbrella?" My brother asked, looking at me with a cookie in his mouth.
"I thought you were a burglar!" I thought he was meant to come to Texas this coming Sunday.
"Burglar? So why are you carrying an umbrella?"
"For defense?"
"Really, Chanel? You took an umbrella to defend yourself against a burglar?" He shook his head at me in disbelief.
"Well..."
"I thought my sister was smarter than this."
I glared at him playfully. "I am still smart. Picking an umbrella for defense doesn't define my smartness."
"Anyway, wouldn't you give your big brother a hug?" He said stretching out his arms.
"You are only older with a year." I said rolling my eyes, before hugging him.
Cole is my elder brother by one year, and we are really close. We both have black hair that we got from our dad, but I got my brown eyes from our mom, while he got his blues eyes from our dad.
He didn't come with us to Texas last week, because he wanted to spend more time with his friends before coming here. He always had his way with our parents.
I feel he was their favorite child, even after our parents have said we were both their favorite. And that's because he gets all the benefits of a last born, even when I am the last born.
"Did you miss me?" He said smiling at me as he released me.
"It has only been a week, and we talked two days ago." I said hitting his arm slightly.
"I know you missed me, anyway." He said eating another cookie.
"Why did you come earlier? I thought you said you were coming next Sunday?" I asked and went towards the fridge to get my favorite juice, pineapple juice.
"Well, I changed my mind. So, you are going to be stuck with me till I leave for college next year."
I groaned. "Whatever. So are you starting school tomorrow?"
"Yes."
"Thank goodness. You will be driving me to school then, since I don't have my car yet."
He groaned. "Why don't you have your car yet? Tell mom and dad to get you one."
"I don't have my license yet, Cole. You have to live with it for now." I said sticking out my tongue at him.
"Mature much? Anyway, are there cute girls in our new school?"
"What happened to Whitney?" I asked, I thought Cole liked her.
"I don't think I like her anymore, so how about a new start in a new school?" He smiled sheepishly at me.
"Well, whoever you decide to like or date is none of my business. But if they are my friends, at least tell me, and don't let me be the one to find out."
"Yeah, whatever. You have friends already?" Cole asked taking another pack of cookies from the cupboard.
"Well..." I don't think I could consider Israel and Ian my friends though...I mean I don't think they consider me friends. We literally just met.
"Well?"
"Um...I talked to two people today though. I don't think we are friends yet though."
"Don't tell me those two people are guys." He said frowning at me.
"I wouldn't tell you they are, but they are." I said smiling at him.
"Why do you usually have more male friends than female friends?" He pouted throwing a cookie at me.
"I don't know either. Male friends are the best though." I said shrugging.
"Anyway, I need to go play fornite. See you later." He kissed my forehead, and went upstairs.
I went to the cupboard to take Lays and realized it was my cookies Cole had been eating all along.
"Cole Evans!"
