*Leyon’s POV* I had finally healed from the torture inflicted by those fūckers. I have to admit that I have never been so happy about seeing my father. Not that I would ever admit it to him. We weren’t really the closest, but we did speak to each other. My father will always be Lyon Blackfort. The man that I always knew as my father until he died. I will never forgive that slūt of my mother. She fūcked a mated man and pinned the child on another. I will admit that she was smart though. My real father was part of the council and the man that raised me was a well-known alpha. I had to give it to her because, thanks to her, I had a pack. Emphasis on the 'had' because of that bītch of Victoria, her mate, and the king. They will pay for everything that they have done to me. That is a promise. “How are you feeling, Son?” Elder Nate said as he walked into the beat-down office that I was in. I had been glancing at the lake behind the place we were hiding at. In the fūcking middle of nowhere. “Don’t call me that.” I growled at him as I turned to face him. “You would think that you would be a bit more grateful.” He sighed before sitting on the couch. “Are you going to rub it in my face? I have paid you back already with my silence throughout these years,” I told him. “You were part of everything.” He said, rubbing his face tiredly. “You never did tell me how you and my father decided to join forces for that shīt.” I told him with a smirk. “I’m your fūcking father!” He growled, standing to his feet. “Of course. You casually remembered after eighteen years.” I shrugged as I poured myself a drink. “I already told you our reasons for keeping it from you. Would you let it go?” He muttered. “Someday.” I said through clenched teeth as I downed my third cup of whiskey. He sighed before speaking again. “Are you ready to strategize or not? We need to move before they come for us.” He asked. “Actually, I have a plan.” I smirked as I turned to him. “Let me get the others then.” He replied, standing up to get the other useless fūckers. *Victoria’s POV* Mother had led me to some private training rooms that they had here. It was crazy that I had been here for some time and had toured the palace but hadn’t been in this room yet. “This place is pretty cool,” I told her as I looked around the room. The training room was very large. The left side had all types of machinery to exercise. The back wall held weights with mats placed along the floor. The right side had a wall to wall pool. Some of the walls also held targets to practice archery. There were several punching bags in the center of the room. Everything was either white or silver and looked super clean. It was completely different than the one back home. “This is where your father and I did most of our training together.” She smiled at the memory before shaking her head. “Ready, baby girl?” She asked me. “Yeah. How do we do this? Are we doing physical training? I thought we were going to train my powers?” I asked her. “Yes, we are training your powers. I’m not quite sure what powers you have, so this is the safest room to experiment in. It is everything proof.” She giggled. “Okay.” I replied. “Mhm, so, how is it done?” “Great question.” She laughed. “What powers do you think you have?” “Um.” I said, furrowing my brows. “Oh, could a power be sensing magic?” I asked her, remembering the time that I was near Anne’s room. “That is definitely a possibility.” “But how—” I was saying before feeling a tingling sensation in my body. I pursed my lips, trying to figure out why I started feeling like this. It wasn’t uncomfortable, but more like little ants crawling over my whole body. The punching bags started moving from side to side, making me turn to them. “Is that you?” I asked my mother in shock. “Yes, Victoria.” She laughed from beside me. “Wow! How many powers do you have?” I asked her as I turned to face her. “A few.” She shrugged. “Enough about me. What did you feel just now?” She asked me. “Like a tingling sensation around my body which is weird because I didn’t feel that last time.” I told her as I looked away, deep in thought. “Hmmm. What did you feel? My grandmother always told me that the feelings always depended on the type of magic. The more magic and the closer it is, the stronger the emotion.” She said. “Last time it was like I couldn’t breathe. I think I even felt physical pain,” I told her. “Was it dark magic?” She asked me. “Yes.” I frowned, looking back at her. “That was why. Dark magic is always meant to be suffocating. Good magic isn’t supposed to cause any harm.” She said as I nodded. “Makes sense.” I told her. I don’t think this power would come in handy against Leyon, but you never know. “I want to try something.” She smiled at me as the punching bags started swinging again. “Check if you can stop it with your mind.” She told me. I rubbed my stomach as I focused on the punching bags. I imagined myself holding the bags when they suddenly stopped, making my eyes grow wide. “Did I really do that?” I asked my mother with a smile. “You most definitely did, sweetheart.” She replied, pulling me into a hug. When she pulled away, she rubbed my stomach tenderly. “I can’t wait to meet my grand pups.” She smiled. “Let’s call it a day, okay?” She asked. “But it was getting good.” I pouted, making her laugh. “I know, sweetheart, but overdoing it could hurt the pups. When I was pregnant with you guys, my powers would drain me to unconsciousness. Your powers will also be its strongest while pregnant.” She said as she grabbed my hand and pulled me out. “Why?” I asked in curiosity. “I wish I had all the answers.” She giggled before turning off the lights. *Edric’s POV* The alphas from multiple packs were present to discuss strategies to stop Blackfort and the council. All of them were in agreement that they needed to be stopped. They vowed to join us in finding them and taking them down. I didn’t realize how many alphas disliked Blackfort’s and suspected his illegal operations. Maybe if I would have done this meeting before, we would have prevented more things. I sighed as I stood up. “So, are we in agreement?” I asked them. “Yes, Your Highness,” they said in unison. “I did have a question though.” One of the older alphas asked. “Goddess knows if what the princess said about them building an army is true—” He was saying before Xavier growled, making me lift my hand to stop him from pouncing on the idiōt. I would let him talk before jumping to conclusions. I think he is smart enough to insult my sister in my face. “What I’m saying is—” he said nervously as he cleared his throat. “If they are building an army, our packs and us may not be enough. We know how deadly a vampire’s bite is. Some are way faster than our best warriors.” He finished as sweat dripped down his forehead. Father sighed as he stood next to me. “He has a point,” he said before turning to everyone. “That is why I believe that our best option is to contact other kingdoms.” “Like who?” Xavier asked with brows furrowed. “Witches, fairies, even dragons,” he replied. “Aren’t dragons extinct?” One of the younger alphas asked in curiosity. “That’s what they make most believe. Because there are so few of them, they keep in hiding. They are probably the best at keeping invisible,” Father replied. “My sister-in-law is a witch. I can speak to her about joining forces.” The only female alpha in the room said as her mate nodded beside her. “That would be great.” I told them before turning to the others. “Let’s plan for another meeting in two days. That should be enough time for each one of us to gather more alliances and prepare our packs.” They all nodded before standing to leave. Once everyone left, Father and Xavier turned to me. “That was better than expected,” Father said. “Even though there are a lot of asšholes that still believe like the council, most have changed their and their pack's beliefs.” I told him. “I can tell.” Father chuckled. “Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to see a female alpha.” Xavier and I nodded just as the door opened, revealing our mates. I smiled as Kayshla ran into my arms. “I missed you, my alpha king.” She whispered as her lips connected to mine, making my smile wider. After the last few days being locked in together, our relationship was finally progressing. She had lost her fear of showing affection in public and she had started initiating a lot of our PDA. I was definitely here for it. When we pulled away, everyone was staring at us, making Kayshla remember that I wasn’t alone. She hid in my chest as everyone else chuckled. “It’s okay, babe. It’s completely normal.” I said as I rubbed her back, making her groan.
