As I approached Marcus, my chest heaving with exertion, I couldn't help but chuckle at his straightforward assessment. "You're not wrong, Marcus," I admitted, wiping the sweat from my brow with the back of my hand. "These warriors are something else." Marcus offered me a wry smile, his eyes twinkling with a hint of amusement. "They're a dedicated bunch, that's for sure," he replied. "But even the strongest of us could use a little extra training from time to time." I nodded in agreement, knowing that Marcus spoke the truth. As the Beta of the pack, it was my responsibility to lead by example and ensure that I was always at the top of my game. And if today's sparring session was any indication, I had some work to do to keep up with the warriors under my command. "Thanks, Marcus," I said, extending my hand in gratitude. "I'll be sure to schedule some extra training sessions for myself. Can't let these youngsters show me up, now can I?" Marcus chuckled, clasping my hand in a firm shake. "That's the spirit, Beta," he said, his voice filled with encouragement. "With a little hard work and dedication, there's nothing you can't accomplish. And remember, I'll be here to help you every step of the way." With renewed determination, I thanked Marcus once more before turning to make my way back to the packhouse. As I walked, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride knowing that I had a trainer like Marcus by my side, ready to support me in my quest for self-improvement. And with his guidance, I knew that I would be able to rise to any challenge that lay ahead. As I walked away from the training grounds, Marcus's words echoing in my mind, I couldn't shake the feeling that I needed to take his advice to heart and prioritize my own training. But as I mulled over his words, a sudden idea struck me, prompting me to reach out to Xander through our mindlink. "Hey, Xander," I sent the message, my thoughts forming into words with practiced ease. "Where are you? I have something to run past you." I waited for a response, knowing that Xander's attention was likely occupied with the myriad responsibilities that came with being Alpha. But I couldn't shake the feeling that what I had to propose could benefit both of us, and I was eager to hear his thoughts on the matter. Xander glanced up from his desk as I entered his office, a hint of amusement in his eyes at my disregard for formalities. "What's the point of knocking if you're going to come right in?" he remarked, his tone teasing. I couldn't help but chuckle at his response as I made my way further into the room. "Listen, man, we're technically too close for all the formalities," I replied with a grin, sinking down onto the couch opposite his desk. Xander raised an eyebrow at my statement, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. "That's not at all how it works," he countered, though there was a hint of amusement in his voice. "Besides, if I let you, I may as well let everyone." I let out a laugh at his response, shaking my head in mock exasperation. "Come on, Xander, you know me," I said, leaning back against the cushions of the couch. "As long as you keep it between you and me, no one else would know. Plus, I'm me. We're technically brothers, and your best friend." At my words, Xander couldn't help but chuckle, the tension in the room dissipating as laughter filled the air. "Fair point," he conceded, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Alright, spill it. What's on your mind?" As I sat across from Xander in his office, I launched into a detailed account of what I had witnessed at the training grounds earlier that day. I described the intensity of the sparring sessions, the dedication of the warriors, and the unmistakable skill they displayed in combat. "They're a formidable bunch, Xander," I explained, my voice tinged with a mixture of admiration and pride. "I've never seen them so focused, so driven. It's clear that Marcus has done an incredible job training them." Xander listened intently as I spoke, his expression thoughtful as he absorbed the information I was relaying. But when I mentioned how the warriors had nearly bested me in combat, a smirk tugged at the corners of his lips. "They nearly kicked your ass, huh?" he chuckled, his amusement evident in his voice. "I guess Marcus wasn't exaggerating when he said you could use some extra training." I couldn't help but laugh along with him, acknowledging the truth in his words. "Yeah, yeah, laugh it up," I replied, though there was a hint of self-deprecation in my tone. "But in all seriousness, Xander, I think there's an opportunity here for us. With your leadership and my... well, whatever it is I bring to the table, we could take our training to the next level." Xander's expression grew thoughtful as he considered my words, his gaze distant as he weighed the possibilities. And as we continued to discuss our plans for enhancing the pack's training regimen, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement building within me. Xander nodded thoughtfully as he considered my proposal, his gaze focused and intense. "Increasing the training days for the warriors sounds like a solid plan," he agreed, his voice carrying a note of determination. "And I like the idea of incorporating the younger members of the pack as junior warriors. It's never too early to start conditioning them for the challenges they'll face." I felt a surge of excitement at Xander's approval, knowing that we were on the cusp of something truly transformative for the pack. "Exactly," I replied, my own conviction growing with each passing moment. "And training with the warriors daily will not only help us stay in top form but also strengthen the bonds between us and our packmates. We'll lead by example, showing them what it means to be true warriors of the Yellow Moon pack." Xander's expression hardened with resolve as he nodded in agreement. "Agreed," he said firmly. "We'll implement these changes immediately and ensure that our warriors are prepared for whatever challenges lie ahead. Together, we'll forge a pack that is stronger, more united, and ready to face any obstacle that comes our way." With a shared sense of purpose, we finalized our plans for the increased training regimen, knowing that our actions would shape the future of the Yellow Moon pack. And as we prepared to put our plan into motion, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride knowing that we were leading our pack into a new era of strength and resilience. As I stepped out of Xander's office, a newfound sense of purpose coursing through my veins, I couldn't help but feel a surge of pride at the role I played within the pack. Being the Beta wasn't just a title—it was a responsibility, a duty to lead and protect our pack through even the darkest of times. In that moment, as I walked through the halls of the packhouse, I felt a renewed sense of confidence and determination. This was what being the Beta entailed—making tough decisions, taking decisive action, and guiding our pack towards a brighter future. Despite the challenges that lay ahead, I knew that with Xander by my side and the support of our packmates, we would overcome any obstacle that stood in our way. Together, we would rise to the occasion, proving ourselves worthy of the titles we held and the trust placed in us by our fellow wolves. With each step I took, I felt the weight of my responsibilities as Beta settling comfortably on my shoulders. And as I looked towards the horizon, I knew that the journey ahead would be difficult, but it was a challenge I was more than ready to face. For I was the Beta of the Yellow Moon pack, and I was determined to lead us to victory, no matter the cost.
