I took the kids' Christmas presents over to them this morning. I kissed their little cheeks and left. I didn't want to spend Christmas morning talking about anything with anyone. I handed Benton his and Sarah's presents, and I gave Jenna hers and Brandon's, but I said nothing more than Merry Christmas before leaving.
I made breakfast for Nate as soon as I got home. Blueberry pancakes, bacon, eggs, coffee. We ate in silence. I ate three bites before I felt bloated. Which, of course, meant Nate banged on about Jenna being right and how he would not sit back and watch me fall into an eating disorder the way his mother and sister had in the past.
