I read Maurice's text message and couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. It seemed she wasn't feeling well, and I understood that she needed to rest. However, the plan for us to go home together as part of our pretend "good sister" routine had been disrupted. I sighed, feeling a sense of loneliness settling in.
I put my cellphone back in my bag and decided to walk outside the campus. The fresh air might do me good, and I could clear my mind before figuring out how to make it up to Maurice for abandoning our plan.
As I walked, lost in my thoughts, I noticed Zake and Zoro approaching me. They seemed curious about my decision to walk instead of waiting for Maurice.
