Luciano
As I sat in my study, I thought about the beauty staying in that room. I forcefully kissed her and was not proud of it, but I couldn’t let her think she could go against my orders.
If I wanted her to fall in love with me, I had to be gentle with her. But her stubbornness and fiery attitude made it hard. And I was not only talking about the situation, she makes me feel things no other woman ever could.
I knew I was doing the right thing. She was going to be safe from her brother when all the chaos came to us. I needed to tame her, and eventually she will be mine. But I also needed to be understanding. She was a delicate flower and I needed to treat her like one.
“Luciano, what do you want to do about the casino situation?” I was pulled out of my thoughts by Enzo, who I had forgotten was sitting on the chair in front of my desk. I shook my head and took a deep breath, trying to focus on what he said.
“Where did you put that man?” I asked, standing up from my chair and looking out my window.
“He’s in the basement. We have him tied up to a chair,” he replied, waiting for an immediate answer from me. Enzo was always loyal and efficient.
“Leave him there tonight, I’ll take care of him tomorrow. He’ll find out no one messes with an Antonetti. You should go get some rest,” I dismissed him. As he was leaving, Martina opened the door.
“Luciano, the girl is settled in her room. She doesn’t want to eat her dinner and she’s pretty upset. I can’t say I blame her, she’s having a hard day,” she said, and I noticed she was pretty upset too. I just shrugged my shoulders and served myself a glass of Scotch.
“I know, Martina. I was in her room earlier. She might not like it now, but she’ll thank me later. I’m doing this for her own good.”
“What’s going on Luciano? Why all of a sudden you marry a girl and bring her here?” She asked, confused. Martina was always against a forced marriage, but she had to deal with it this time.
“I can’t say right now. All I want you to do is take care of her. I don’t want her to feel like a prisoner in this house. Tomorrow give her a tour and let her know which rooms are available and which are off limits. She’s my wife and she has the right to know her own house.”
“Yes, I will Luciano. But please, try to be kind with her. She’s gone through a lot in one day, losing her freedom and being forced to marry a man she doesn’t love,” she said in her motherly voice, making me hiss at the mention of her not loving me. Unfortunately, I couldn’t go against her demands.
“I will, don’t you worry. I will not be one of those husbands who mistreats his wife. I will cherish her and I need her to fall for me, just as I have fallen for her since the moment I saw her,” I said, taking a gulp of my drink. She was going to be my treasure.
My focus right now was dealing with Ethan, and I needed to act fast. He needs to watch his back because I would make sure he loses everything.
He could have fooled all his allies, but he sure as hell won’t fool me. I had to match his arrogance with my logic. He was the one who would end up without nothing.
I still had no idea how Armando could leave him in charge of everything. He will bring his empire down to ashes, and no allies will be able to help them. It takes one to know one. We’re both crooks, but I can be the more dangerous one out of the both of us.
My mind went back to Piper. How beautiful she looked in that dress and how her tears made me want to take her in an embrace.
How my lips were dying to touch hers and how my hands were willing to roam all over her body. I wanted her and I needed her and I had hopes that she would accept me.

Piper
I spent most of my night awake, crying angrily at this whole situation. I wanted to escape and run away from everything and everyone. Who knew my life would take a turn this big?
I was under the covers, feeling numb. I used to be such a happy girl and I was going to marry the man I loved more like anything in this world. But my dreams were taken away from me, and all because of this stupid man.
I hated him. I hated him with all my heart. Suddenly, I could hear voices and footsteps outside of my door, and it was torture knowing this was going to be my home from now own.
Different people, different life. I knew I was being dramatic, but it is how I felt. I was sure this man would be kind to me, but that didn’t mean I would like him.
“I wish things were different. I am so sorry Kyle. I love you and I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. It’s not my fault, please forgive me,” I wept in silence and almost drifted to sleep until I heard a commotion outside.
A man was screaming, scared. I sat up and tried to stay in bed, but I couldn’t help and took a peek out the door to see what was going on.
They were dragging a man, his face was bloodied. I saw them take him to a door and it muffled his screams as soon as they closed it.
Goosebumps appeared on my skin and I quickly ran inside my room and locked the door. I was wrong, I was also in danger. I had to leave this place as soon as possible, or I might end up like that man.
