Arrival At The Mansion

1190 Words
Luciano     On our ride back to my mansion, I could hear her sniffling next to me. Hearing her cry was affecting me, and I wanted to take her in my arms. She was looking out the window, not wanting to look back at me.    I was not sure if she would ever accept the fact that she’ll be living with me, but I was going to make sure she did and soon. I would never hurt her, that's for sure. In fact, I saved her. I saved her from the clutches of her brother.    I handed her a tissue, which she hesitantly accepted, and she cleaned her face. Her makeup was ruined, but she still looked beautiful. I can't show remorse at the moment. I had to do this.    The reason I married her was to discover Ethan's dirty movements within the Mafia. I've heard he would form an alliance with another Mafia Boss and then stab them in the back, killing them or taking everything from them.     I wanted to take care of it for myself, and when I discovered his intentions, I didn't want her caught up in the way. I wanted her safe in my house, being protected by my men.     War might come towards me, but I would be ready. I won't let anything happen to her. Her beauty captivates. That tanned and smooth skin, and those blue eyes had me craving for her. Not to mention, those plump lips, painted with that red lipstick made her look breathtaking. I've noticed her since the first day I met her brother.     She was sitting on the porch swing that day, reading a book, looking so innocent in her blue summer dress with floral patterns. Her hair fell down her shoulders and the winds caressed her strands, making her look like an angel.    When I first started doing business with her father, he was the best ally I could have. Now that he was retired, everything was handed down to Ethan.     I despised that man. He was arrogant and pretentious, ruthless and ambitious. The more he had, the more he wanted. That's why it will be my duty to put a stop to his game. He will fall hard from that cloud he lives in, and I would make sure of that.     A few minutes later, Piper stopped crying and it was quiet for a moment, until she broke the silence.    “My dress is ruined,” she said, looking down while she tried to wipe the blood off from her wedding dress.     She struggled with it, and I couldn't help but admire her frustration. I knew it wasn't right, but she looked even more beautiful when she was angry.     I chuckled at her words. She was having the worst day of her life, and yet she was worried about her dress. Women are the most complicated human beings on earth. She looked at me, and I could see how upset I made her.    “Do you think that's funny?” she said, narrowing her eyes at me. I couldn't say I blamed her, she must be hating me right now.    “I don't think it's funny, I find it ironic that you're just worrying about your dress, considering the situation you're in,” I mentioned, taking a glass from the cabinet and pouring some Scotch in it. I took a sip, as I heard her scoff next to me.     “And what do you want me to tell you? That you and my brother just ruined me? That you ruined what was supposed to be the happiest day of my life while assaulting my fiancé? Well, I am sorry if I just worry about my dress, so I can't think about what you did to me!"     Unshed tears threaten to fall from her eyes, but she tried to hold them back in.    “If you knew what this is all about, you wouldn't think that way. In fact you would thank me,” I said, holding her chin without realizing I was being rough with my hands.     “I rather think about anything else, than to think of the nightmare I'm living now,” she swatted my hand away from her face, “I hate you.”    “I will make you change your mind soon, you'll see,” I said in a low, threatening voice.    I was going to deal with a feisty one, but it doesn't bother me; I like the challenge. One thing I wouldn’t do was force her. I would give her the space she needs and maybe, just maybe, she’ll come to me on her own will. That didn't mean I would give up on her.    We arrived at my mansion and I held my hand to help her out of the car, but she went through the other side. I smirked, because I knew she did that on purpose to annoy me. But she was wrong. I was not easily annoyed by a woman. Her feisty attitude attracted me even more. She would be mine either way.     As we entered the house, I called Martina, my housekeeper. She came through the door quickly, with a smile on her face. My favorite lady.    “Ben tornato, Luciano. Como stai, tesoro?" she said, pinching my cheeks. She was the classic Italian woman who would not take crap from anyone, but she was like a mom to me.     For years, she worked for my father, and now she was working for me. The only person who could scold me and I wouldn't do anything about it. I could see my wife smiling at the interaction, but when I looked at her, her expression changed back to the hateful one.     I respected Martina a lot. She's always been there for me, and always took care of me growing up. I was her spoiled prince.    “Hello, Martina. Would you be a dear and take Piper to her room? She needs to change out of her dress and bring her dinner upstairs. I'm sure she's tired, and won't be coming down.”    “Am I not sleeping in your room?” Piper asked, looking at me with surprise, but I could see a hint of joy in her face.    “No, at least not tonight. You need time alone to process all of this, and I'll respect that. But that won't last long. Expect to be moved to my room any day,”    I would make sure she didn't have the choice to argue, so I needed to make it clear for her.    “Just because you're being considerate, does not mean I'll like you,” she hissed.     With that, she followed Martina. I would definitely have my hands full with her, but she'll come around. At least I know she'll be safe here.     I headed to my study when my right-hand man, Enzo, walked into the house.    “Luciano, there's something wrong at the casino. It's one of your employees. You might want to head over there, it's important.”    I let out a frustrated sigh. I have to deal with a stubborn lady in my house, and now I have to deal with another problem at my casino. I wonder who is trying to cause problems for me.     “Bring me that person. I'll deal with him right here.”    Enzo nodded, and left to get that i***t who thought it would be nice to make me mad. My name is Luciano Antonetti, and no one messes with me.
