Chapter 10
Li Jianjun left Vancouver, British Columbia at one in the morning to drive to the airport in Spokane, Washington. In his mid-thirties, he was a Canadian citizen although he had been born in Beijing, China. His family had moved first to Hong Kong, and then Canada. For a while, Jianjun worked for Microsoft in Seattle, but then realized his ability to research and hack into Internet sites was far more profitable than his job. His most interesting work was with Michael Rempart who had also become his best friend.
The early morning hours, Jianjun discovered, were the best time to go through the border crossing. Few people were there, and the guard had little interest in why he wanted to enter the US.
