Chapter 1 I Want a Divorce
Stella Rosenberg's POV: I've been married for three years, and my husband Osborne Farley has never touched me. Since I was 15 and rescued from the orphanage by Osborne's grandfather, James Farley, I've been living with the Farley family. It has been eight years now. Back then, I had lost my memory and was drifting from place to place. My time at the orphanage was terrible until the Farley family took me in. That's when I first met Osborne, who was six years older than me. I had never seen a man as handsome as him. He had slightly curly golden hair, a high nose, and full lips that were always smiling. His lake-green eyes were warm and charming, like a spring day. Osborne was incredibly kind to me, gentle and courteous. At the tender age when I first learned to love, I fell for him. Osborne married me because of an accident three years ago at a party. He accidentally slept with me, and a group of reporters suddenly showed up and took photos. I could never forget the expression he had when he looked at me: shock, suspicion, and... deep disgust. At that time, his company was about to go public. In front of the reporters, he claimed that I was his fiancée. A month later, we had a grand wedding. The whole world wished us happiness, but I was far from happy. Osborne didn't really want me. He had been drugged with an aphrodisiac, and I had mistakenly handed him the room card that had led him to my room. All the evidence pointed to me, and from that moment, Osborne saw me as a scheming woman and avoided me like the plague. On our wedding night, I accidentally fell and hit my head, and then, my lost memories suddenly flooded back. I wasn't an orphan. I was the youngest heiress of the richest family in the country, the Rosenberg family! But by then, I had already fallen deeply in love with Osborne. So, I made a deal with my father: if Osborne fell in love with me within three years, I could leave the family and truly become Osborne's wife. During these three years, I endured all the looks from the outside world—contemptuous, disdainful, jealous, and inquisitive. I accepted them all without explanation, silently playing the role of a good wife, thinking that this would allow me to stay by his side and hold on to the warmth I had gained during my most desolate times. But reality told me that silent endurance would not earn anyone's respect. I lost count of how many nights I stared at the empty villa in a daze. It's been three years, and I can count on one hand the times he has come home. Each time, he would hastily finish his meal and leave as if it were a routine chore. I would always be the first to hand him his suit jacket when he left, but he never even noticed if I had eaten with him. Maybe every time he came home, the person he wanted to see was never me. That night, as usual, I lay alone in our bed, unable to sleep. Suddenly, I heard the door open and someone stumbling into the room. Moments later, a hot, heavy body pressed down on me. The familiar scent of his cologne mixed with the strong smell of alcohol reminded me of that night three years ago. Hesitantly, I asked, "Osborne?" His heavy, rapid breaths brushed past my ear, and his familiar voice made my heart drop and then soar. Could it be that he was finally willing to accept me? Why? Did he find out who really drugged him back then and realize that I was innocent? His hot hands roamed over my body, and long-forgotten passion surged within me. In the faint moonlight, I could see the outline of his handsome profile and strong build. He roughly pulled off my thin nightgown, and one of his hands moved downward, teasing my dry secret garden. His hot breath reached my chest, and the lips I had dreamed of took my n****e into his mouth, sucking gently, making me shiver. "Osborne, I... mmm!" A calloused finger entered my wetness, parting my folds and pressing down with varying pressure, making my lower abdomen ache with pleasure, sending waves of bliss straight to my spine. Then, a gush of embarrassing liquid flowed out, soaking his long, elegant fingers. Osborne chuckled softly, pulling out his finger. Just as I felt the emptiness, something much thicker and hotter replaced it, teasing at my entrance. The large head pushed through my wetness, spreading my tender walls, and sinking deeper until it hit my core. Waves of pleasure crashed over me as the sounds of our bodies colliding filled the room. I couldn't help but move my body to meet him, wanting to fill all the gaps between us. "Osborne... oh... I... I love it so much..." "Nina..." His hoarse voice boomed in my ear like thunder, and I felt my whole body stiffen, my hands and feet turning cold in an instant. Nina? Nina Merchant? Nina was Osborne's first love. She had left the country right after we got married and had been abroad all these years. But she came back yesterday. And she had sent me some taunting text messages Nina: Stella, I'm back. There's no place for you in the Farley family! Nina: Osborne and I grew up together. Do you really think that by tying him down for a few years, you could replace me in his heart?! Go back to the orphanage. That's where you belong. Nina: You don't know how much Osborne loves me, do you? Even if he's lying in your bed, he will always whisper my name. You're just a stand-in, Stella. How does it feel? Until just now, I had been deceiving myself, believing that I was Osborne's rightful wife, not someone's replacement! But faced with reality, I was completely defeated! Tears flowed uncontrollably as my heart went numb with pain. I pushed Osborne away and ran to the living room, where I spent the night. ***** The next morning, the blinding sunlight woke me up. When I opened my eyes, Osborne was already dressed, sitting on the couch opposite me, looking nothing like the man from last night. As soon as he saw I was awake, his face filled with anger. "These past three years, I thought you had changed. But you're still as shameless as ever!" I was bewildered when he continued, "You think drugging me again will make me stay with you?" Drugging him? I had no idea what he was talking about. A wave of sadness washed over me. Osborne didn't trust me at all. This was the man I loved deeply. Over the years, I had been careful, trying to please him. I even quit my job to be a good wife to Osborne. His mother, Heather Farley, and sister, Emma Farley, often humiliated and bullied me because they didn't know my background. I endured it all, not wanting to cause Osborne any trouble. Hadn't I been humble enough to win his love? I let out a bitter laugh. "Do you have any proof that I drugged you?" Osborne frowned, his tone certain. "Who could it be if it wasn't you? You have a history of drugging me!" I felt utterly disappointed. "That's what you've been thinking of me?" Osborne didn't reply, but the look of disgust on his face said it all. It was laughable that all my efforts over the past three years had amounted to nothing! If that was how he saw me, there was no point in holding on to our marriage anymore. I straightened my back, trying to summon the resolve I needed. "I want a divorce."
