At Blythe’s cabin, Laila was at a loss, she didn't know what to do, at the point that she reached, the only option was to mate with Lucius properly but after their encounter that night, she could not trust that she wouldn't fall for him. Trying to convince herself that what she felt was just physical attraction did not erase the truth of the matter, and the truth was, she couldn’t stop thinking about him, whether they were pleasant thoughts or thoughts of him dying, he was still on her mind.
Instead of focusing on her true feelings, as Blythe advised her to, Laila instead decided to engage in the study of plants. The more Blythe used them, the more interested she was in learning how they work, and thankfully enough, she was kind enough to teach her about all the different kinds of plants
