Devlin managed to find an exit point of the sewerage at a stream. Seeing the moon and smelling the fresh air, we couldn’t help but rejoice in our freedom. We rolled around the stream to wash off our fur and dried blood from our head before continuing our journey.
The problem now is to find our way to civilisation. Thank the Moon Goddess that we’re well versed with forests and trained. We followed the stream downhill, hoping that it wouldn’t be long till we reached an opening. Suddenly, we felt a nudge in our mind as though someone is trying to mind link us. We zeroed on it immediately.
“Bella? Bel!” an urgent voice entered my mind.
“Laxton? Where are you?”
“I’m nearby, love. Don’t worry, I’ll save you.”
“But where are you? I can’t see you! I just escaped from Voss and Mace.”
