THAT EVENING, RAFFERTY and Llewellyn did the rounds of Ian Sutherland’s other friends: Chris Tennant, Rick Wentworth and Sanjay Gupta.
They started with Tennant. He lived in an apartment in Elmhurst to the west of the town, overlooking the ancient priory ruins in Priory Park. Tennant must have a good job because not only was his home in an enviable position, it was also spacious and expensively furnished, from the ornate granite fireplace in the main room to the large and original artworks on the plain white walls. There was a huge expanse of window, extending the full length of one wall. It must make the room very light and airy earlier in the day.
