CHAPTER 11 Dr. Jacob asks about my medical past. I wonder how much she really wants to know. I’m still not sure if she’s interested in my story or if she’s just doing her job to get her Brownie points with God. I usually get a pretty good feel for people. Comes from all those novels I read. Dr. Jacob is still something of an enigma, but I don’t mind. Gives me more to puzzle over while she probes into my past. First it’s the pills. She wants to know exactly what drugs I’m on, as if she’s some kind of MD and not just a shrink. Then it’s when the depression started, if I’ve ever felt suicidal. I lie and tell her no.
