1: The King is poisoned
Gae Ferri made her way out of the palace gates, a green cloak over her head and a lantern leading the way. The king had been poisoned. Her father had been poisoned. She looked left and right over a hunched shoulder. The see through gate made a creaking sound after her exit that caused her to wince from fear of being sighted. But then, that was very unlikely. From the lowest servant to the eldest queen, everyone wanted to know what had caused the king to go unconscious. More importantly - who was behind it. Gae had better things to think about though. If the king passed away from the poisoning, the kingdom would need a new heir. She was going to be that heir. Her time was finally here. Wet grass tickled Princess Gae's feet as she hastened her steps down the path that led to the rose garden in the kingdom. It was way past midnight and the best place to think of a way to the throne was in the middle of a garden, with birds as company. * The black dragon flew back to the wretched hut. Its thatched roof was barely existent anymore and the building was hanging to life by a straw. "Falkor is back!" The nasal voice belonged to a short brunette in her middle twenties. Accompanying her announcement, she took off into the village, chanting the words on repeat. It was only a matter of time before the rest of the dragons assembled in the hut. Falkor landed in his human form. He was not as attractive as his dragon. He was a short, bubbly man with a receding hairline and he needed a new pair of pants to replace his tattered looking ones. "Welcome Falkor, word?" A slender woman in a red cloak stepped into view, three other men behind her. "Confirmed." Falkor nodded a little, a frown sitting on his face. "Delvin, spread the news. The rumours were true, Hagrid stole the throne from Ingrid!" She bellowed as if Delvin wasn't standing three inches away from her. "Yes, Millie." Delvin nodded and took off, shifting into his dragon outside to do just as he had been ordered. "That's not all." Falkor's deep voice interrupted the murmurs from the little crowd gathered in the room. "The king was confirmed poisoned and unconscious." That caused Millie's eyes to brighten. "Ah, even better. Send the boy in." She chuckled, her dark red lips shifting into a smirk. Gwax was already standing by the door and so he walked right on cue. "You leave immediately." Millie turned to him. "What? Right now?" Falkor expressed his surprise. "Yes Falkor. This is the right time to penetrate the royal family. They will be grieving their soon to be dead king and would pay no attention to security. It is time to take what is rightfully ours. Those selfish people banished us from the kingdom and labelled the dragon clan as outcasts." She paused to pace around the room. "We are tired of living like dead souls with barely any food. Now that we have proof the royal family stole the throne from the dragon empire, even better." She chuckled evilly. "You will head straight to the palace and take down every single line of royalty. Slowly but certainly. If anyone finds out you're a dragon, kill them." Millie said to Gwax whose face held no emotions as if he wasn't about to take on the most dangerous adventure. Gwax had dark, ear length wavy hair. His tanned skin was ornamented by his beautiful ice blue eyes and his tall build was any man's insecurity. He had the bone structure of a god, strong arms and a toned body. His defined cheekbones and jaw were void of a beard, he hated facial hair but stubborn studs left their mark. "Jaxon will prepare everything you need. The messenger crow will fly to you every three days, you know what to do." Millie grinned from ear to ear. "Come on boys, we have a feast to make." She exited the hut laughing maniacally. Gwax took a deep breath in. It was time for vengeance. It was time to take their enemies down and he wasn't going to let his clan down, not in this lifetime. Shifting into his dragon, Gwax lifted his small travel bag onto his back, securing it one of his numerous scales, and drifted away. He didn't need Jaxon. In fact, he didn't even say goodbye to his lover he had left naked on the bed at the hearing of the news. He had little time and so much to do, so much to kill. * Gae stood from the bench in fast motion. She squinted her eyes and took a defence position. Someone was in the garden. Why hadn't she thought to bring her sword with her? It was clever not to make a sound. Why would she want to alert her predators of her presence? Her eyes widened at the sight of a stranger approaching her from a distance. He had a masculine build and was wearing a matching cloak as hers. Gwax had smelled the presence of royalty when he had flown towards the rose garden. His red dragon was over thirteen feet tall and there was no way to hide himself in that form. Here he was making his way to his first kill. He could tell she was all by herself and although, Millie had ordered gaining their trust at first, what better way to end things than in the moment? His dragon warned him against it in his subconscious but he ignored it. 'You fool, if you kill her, the kingdom will be on alert for intruders.' The voice warned. "Wh..who are you?" She was frightened. The wind had knocked her lantern's flame out. "Don't touch me, I.. I'm a princess!" She cried. Gwax cared less. He let his dragon claws come through as he lifted his hand, ready to strike her dead.
