Devon's POV
"There has been another invasion my Lord"
"These spirits are messing with me Alan" I scowled relaxing on my office seat.
"What should I do to them?" I drawled.
Alan's eyes widened slightly before facing downwards again.
"Give them a last chance my Lord. I'll send another warning to them" he implored.
I hummed. "Will they listen?" I mused.
"I'll make sure they do my Lord. Just one more chance"
I eyed him softly. I still didn't understand his attachment to them but I wasn't going to question it.
"One last chance Alan. Just one"
He nodded his head at me. "Yes my Lord"
"Anything else?" I sighed. I was just about done with this day but I couldn't go home, not yet.
"The girl is coming over today!"
I stopped what I was doing. "She is?"
Alan answered "yes my Lord. Marcus has gone to bring her over"
"Have you spoken about it with Patricia?"
"Yes my Lord. Everything is ready"
"Okay. You may leave."
She was coming over today. I hadn't forgotten about her coming. Our encounter was also one I wouldn't forget in a long time. Her father who in my opinion was a pathetic human didn't know what he was doing making empty deals with me. I could tell from our first meeting that he was drunk. He didn't meet with me but with Alan, I watched everything through my computer.
I didn't think I was going to make use of the deal we made, not once not ever. However, things in my world were soon changing. I had everything I could ever ask for, everything I wanted but there was one thing lacking.
I didn't have a pet.
I didn't understand the concept of having one but if I didn't want to loose all I had worked for, I had to get one. I had made Alan get all the information he had about the family and he stumbled on his children.
Of course I could go to any other place to get a human pet but her father was owing me, that was the only way he could pay by giving his daughter over to me.
She was one fierce girl, she feared me like every other person but her eyes said differently. She looked as though she had a thousand and one things to say to me. Like she had a million insults to give and shades to throw. She knew what was at stake which was why she didn't say anything.
Maybe if she did, I would have spared her.
A knock sounded on my office door making me look up. I perceived her scent before she came in and I let out an exasperated sigh.
I didn't answer but the door was opened.
"Hello my darling" her obnoxious voice sounded.
I lifted my eyes to her. "What are you doing here Beatrice?" I asked relaxing my back on my chair again and lacing my fingers together.
"I missed you. I came to see you" she said. Her face was caked with heavy makeup that made her look more hideous. She was a vampire but she had undergone so many surgeries it was difficult to keep up. I didn't know what was real and what wasn't anymore on her body.
"I don't miss you Beatrice. Leave" I replied before going back to my work.
From the corner of my eyes, I sighted her making her way over to me, her red painted fingers trailing over my desk as she strided over to me.
"You wound me Devon. You know how much I hate lies" she replied.
I didn't respond, merely focusing on my work.
Her hands soon replaced my papers as she covered where my eyes were staring at. Her painted nails were what I could see now making me let out a frustrated sigh.
Her scent was causing me to gag and I simply just hated being in her presence.
I lifted my eyes to stare at her, the blue of her orbs searching mine and still staring longingly at me.
"You are going to stain my papers with your fake hands Beatrice" Beatrice only laughed loudly. It wasn't news to anyone that she was surgically enhanced, she had hated when people found out initially but nothing stayed hidden for long in vampire city.
"I love when you call my name my Lord" she bit her lower lip before pushing my papers aside and sitting on the table. Her legs were opened to me causing me to stare inadvertently down to them.
Her cotton panties were staring back at me and I swallowed. She was wearing my favorite pair.
I averted my gaze immediately, not wanting to fall in her charm. She had a heavy charm for seduction and it had worked everytime. No matter how much I hated her, I could never resist her, but not today. I had so much on my mind it was taking all my focus.
"Let me help you Devon. I know you want it" she whispered seductively, our faces close to each other and her chest open for me to see.
"I'm not in the mood Beatrice. You need to leave" I replied turning my face away when she moved to kiss me.
She huffed before lifting her head away from me and sitting upright on my desk. Her legs were still open on two sides of my chair and she stared at me.
"What is worrying you my Lord? Let me help" she said.
"I'm fine. I don't need your help" I resigned pushing my chair back, I stood up and threw my suit jacket over to her opened legs. It covered exactly the way I wanted.
Beatrice blushed before adjusting it and covering herself properly.
"I want to help you---"
"The only way you can help me right now is by leaving Beatrice" I growled.
She eyed me, a hurt look passing her eyes before she sighed and stood up. She placed my jacket back behind my chair and made her way over to me.
Her fingers played with my tie. I stood watching her as she trailed her fingers over my clothed chest.
"Still as sturdy as ever" she said under her breath, her eyes watching her movements.
"I'm going to go, but only because I don't want you getting more pissed than you are now. If you need me, you know where to find me" she kissed my lip before winking and strolling away.
I watched her leave until she was outside the door. I let out a heavy sigh before pressing my intercom.
"Alan" he rushed over to my office, his eyes wide and breaths panting.
I wondered how he was a vampire when he had little to no speed.
"I'm leaving for the day. Call Patricia and tell her to prepare dinner" I said, already putting my jacket and my coat on.
"Yes my Lord" he replied before he was out.
I called my driver to get the car ready. I didn't want any more visitors and the more I stayed here, the likelihood of me getting them. No one dared visited me at my residence except if they wanted to die.
I was out of my office building in record time not wanting to teleport in here. I once did it and all the papers in my desk were sprawled on the floor. I could only do it from outside to inside if I was in my office.
"Good day my Lord" Reuben my driver greeted. I nodded at him before entering through the door he held out for me.
"Has my guest arrived already!" I asked him.
"Yes my Lord" Reuben answered back.
I hummed.
"Call Patricia and have her ready to come down to meet me. I won't be staying home for long" I said.
He nodded before putting a call through to Ms Patricia.
____
The house was quiet when I got in, not what I was expecting considering everyone knew I was home already but I liked it. It made it easier to spy on them sometimes.
I walked over to the sitting room, my eyes scanning everywhere. The kitchen was empty as well.
Didn't I tell them to prepare dinner?
I walked closer to find the dining halls open but that wasn't what got my attention.
There she stood, a soft happy smile on her face as she scanned the different arrays of food on the table. She was giggling and was looking for which to steal. I didn't read her mind, don't worry. I wasn't going to do so, not yet. I could read minds of every body I had met in my life. However hers didn't come to me easily.
I didn't know why. Maybe it was because I hadn't stayed with her for long.
I cleared my throat when she wanted to take a piece of banana, her hand freezing mid air and turning to me.
Her eyes widened, the same way they did when I caught her eavesdropping in her house.
She was shaking. It was obvious that she was scared of me. She looked surprised to see me which was surprising considering I told Patricia.
Didn't they tell her i was coming?
I swept my eyes over her features, from her grey hair to her face down to the clothes she was wearing --
What was she wearing?
"Is that the dress that was prepared for you?"
There was no way Patricia would pick this flimsy dress for her to wear.
Her eyes swept over her body before staring up at me.
"I --- I like it" she whispered shakily.
I almost had the urge to laugh in her face.
"You like it?" I asked her. She nodded her head. I gave her the same look I did over at her house. She wasn't to nod at me when I asked her question.
She quickly responded, muttering "I do" under her breath.
I made slow steps to her, her eyes blinking and watching me. She look frightened but she was trying to hide it. The same fierce look in her eyes was ever present but it wasn't as strong as it was over at her house.
Now standing close to her, I squinted my eyes to her, taking in her scent and trying to read her mind. It was blocked.
That was strange.
"I get that you are cheap. That you are from a poor background but now you belong to me. You don't have a say of your own anymore. You don't have the right to like things. Whatever I say goes and right now I am saying go change this flimsy dress" I replied.
Her eyes glossed over, her lips parted and she almost fell off her feet but the tight grip she had on the chair held her in place.
"Ms Patricia!" I bellowed turning my head a little over my shoulder, my eyes still watching her.
"Yes Master" she answered.
"Take Ms Silver away from me and make sure she wears the outfit you give her" I growled.
If I didn't know better I'd say she wanted to pluck my eyes out with how much hate was in her eyes. However I didn't mind her, it wasn't my business if she cried or not.
"Yes my Lord" I eyed her once again before walking out.
I must give it to her, she was indeed bold defying me.
What? She liked it?
Very funny.
She didn't even know what she was here for and she was already liking things.
If only she knew.
