Edwardian: The Ruins of Darkness
I had been looking at the ruins all wrong. Duke Mountain had been my home but it had never been Cassian's home. She had chosen to stay on the Succubus path with Philip because that was her nature. She doesn't like violence the way Dom and I crave it. Cassian has been a Pierce from the instant she was born and continued to be in her resurrection.
Castle Duke is gone. It had been sucked into the void of Purgatory along with everything else. The only reason Pierce manor has ruins is that the house itself was built outside of the barriers. When Adam used the barriers and changed the rules, the house became the only thing that wasn't created within Darkness.
