The mind does crazy things when it’s inebriated. It creates baffling illusions, especially in the night, such as imagining your sworn nemesis actually acting like a gentleman for once and driving you home without complaint or advancements. Or magically finding your way into the house and spotting your sister about to head upstairs with a cup, you open your mouth to speak but it seems nothing comes out or she can’t hear you. Or imagining that you, hardly able to stand without support, follow her upstairs to your bedroom and through the crack of your door, witness your husband kissing your sister. And just before they kissed, you heard him say something along the lines of wanting to f**k her on the kitchen counter.
