Chapter 3 The Big Alpha
MOON STONE FORTRESS
Sebastian stomped his way into the pack house, hell bent on bending Jayden's neck as soon as he sights him. Sometimes, he wished so bad to not have anything doing with Jayden. But being the future Beta he is obligated to stay true to the next in line to become the alpha.
They grew up together and has been friends all their lives. Truly Sebastian loves Jayden and he would take everything but not a disrespect towards his sister. It is not a new thing for Jayden to trample upon anyone the way he wanted but he needs to know his boundaries. Sebastian huffed almost knocking the door to Jayden's room down when one of the pack house maids rushed towards him.
“Good day sir Sebastian, he is in the study." She informed him before continuing her journey.
It pissed Sebastian off that his anger was dissipating and on getting to the door he didn't bother to knock.
Jayden had a boyish grin on his face as his legs rested on the table and with his eyes watching his friend in amusement. If anything, he knew his friend Sebastian, Lorelei's brother would come to find him. Knowing how bratty Lorelei could be, it wouldn't take time before she reports to her defendant. And Jayden couldn't help the snort he released. Sebastian must be daydreaming if he thinks he can actually confront him. But he didn't mind being humored.
"To what do I owe this generous visit?" Jayden asked with his voice taunting.
Sebastian shot a glare at Jayden, his thick eyebrows conforming together. A normal person would have been scared to death but nothing scares Jayden Damien.
"You have got some actual nerves Jayden! How many times do I have to warn you to back off from messing around with my sister?"
Jayden chuckled. “Oh ask your sister if she really doesn't like messing around with me." Licking his lips in emphasis, he smirked.
"I could really punch your face right now." Sebastian threatened.
Putting his legs down, he sat up. "Let's have it then, it has been long I had a fist fight. Or..." He winked. “We could do it in the woods."
Shutting his eyes tightly, Sebastian inhaled and exhaled trying to calm his nerves. "If you weren't my friend and future alpha, I would have had your head rolling on the floor right this minute. But for the sake of love—“
"Sit your f*****g ass down." Jayden laughed loudly.
The banters always went back and forth between them, but they never stayed too long getting angry at each other. Sebastian watched as Jayden folded his loose hair up in a bun. Without being judgmental, Jayden obviously looked like a man slut. What proper wolf and future alpha keeps his hair long and is obsessed with it? No lies, Jayden pays more attention to his hair than he does to the pack.
Sebastian sat down but pointed a finger at him. "Don't make me ruin your pretty face Jayden." He warned.
"Don't act like you don't know how I feel towards your sister."
"She isn't interested in you."
Jayden scoffed. “No one can refuse me, not even Lorelei. Are you doubting my intention about her?"
Sebastian raised a brow. “I would trust everything you say except loving my sister. So just leave her alone."
"Not if I can help it." Jayden shrugged.
"Do not mess around with my sister." Sebastian warned again with his face looking dead serious.
Tired of going back and forth with him, Jayden laughed throwing his head back. “It is all good, I have heard you. Just do not be surprised when she eventually becomes my Luna."
Ignoring him, Sebastian looked away distracting himself with a fashion magazine cover page. Leafing through the content, his eyes caught sight of a picture that looked almost the same as Jayden but for the Kohl black hair and turquoise eyes he could tell straight up that was Jayden's twin brother, Jaylen Damien.
It was obvious Jayden hadn't seen the magazine. Everyone avoided talking about his twin brother like a plague all to not annoy Jayden. He could turn the whole building into ashes if he gets angry. Nothing gets him more reeled up than the mention of his brother.
Someone who didn't live around the pack house, that came visiting must have dropped it unintentionally. Sebastian thought.
They had all grown up together, being the Alpha and Beta’s children and both twins were always at each other's neck. But it was more of Jayden always after Jaylen's neck. Their fights got more fierce as years passed, it was becoming unbearable for not just the parents and close relatives but also the rest of the pack. Until a fateful night, Jaylen had left the pack and never returned since then.
The picture attachment had been so small, when he looked into the magazine further he could find a torn path which shows whoever dropped it knew the rules. Sebastian got tired of abiding by it, but missed tearing off the second page. He felt the urge to do the same, but at the same time he wanted to ogle it more and read the contents.
"Sebastian!" Jayden authoritative voice rumbled from where he sat with his face giving off no emotion.
Sebastian heart almost flew out of his chest, hoping fervently he hadn't been caught. "What got you so carried away?" Jayden asked as he eyed him suspiciously.
Closing up the page in one slap, Sebastian sat up. "Nothing at all, was just thinking of some other things."
Running his hand through the smoothness of his hair, Jayden rolled his eyes. "Sometimes, you act too serious for your own good. Should we go clubbing tonight?"
Sebastian stared at him blankly. "Didn't you get your guts f****d out few hours ago? You intend to run another bouts of relay?"
Jayden flexed his arms. "I am made for it."
"You be careful dear alpha to be, don't burn out please." Standing up, Sebastian folded the magazine carefully and raised it towards Jayden. "May I take this with me?"
Jayden snorted. "Do what you like. You are such a kill joy."
"I try my best." Sebastian shrugged.
And as he turned to walk out of the room, one of the helpers rushed in looking like a scared cat. She panted heavily, staring hard at Jayden. "Sir, the big alpha just collapsed." She announced.
