Chapter 5

I look up at him and he looks back at me with a hidden sorry look.

"I'm sorry for brushing you off like that last night. The ride here was very rough. Eat this." He says shyly.

"Weren't you supposed to go get your spiritual mission today?" I grab ahold of the plate and hesitate eat it.

"Yeah, I got my mission before they had to call it off because the weather started getting worse. The ones that can go outside is Sagittarius and Capricorns because were born during this time, it was advised not to. A lot of people are upset." He sits down in the chair next to my bed.

"I-"

"I'm not a bad guy...you just have to give me a chance. We're going to be stuck with each other until the end. You might as well get used to this."

"Oh f**k off with that fuckery. What you did yesterday was embarrassing. It showed me that you had no consideration about my feelings and you just thought about what you wanted. I'm not going to sit here and lecture you like a mother. You are a grown man and man up. You have no right to tell me what to do because you have yet to learn my respect." I set my plate down,Stand up and look out the balcony. "I will tolerate you...but you have to earn that respect."

"It was a day one f**k up. Get off your high horse." He says getting in my face. He may be 6"0' but hes not going to intimidate me with that. "You need to start making plans for us to be victorious. We can bond with the fact that we both need to survive. What is your spiritual task?"

"She just said it was going to be a long journey and to not trust everything I see." I cross my arms and look up at him with the same demeanor he's giving me. "What is yours?"

"....To not be so demanding and to not trust everything I see too." He looks down at me.

"Oh! So the thing you're doing...like...right now? I guess old habits die hard don't they. Dont worry about me. Our tasks are for us to grow as a independent person."

"You better stay away from Ash…." He says in a low voice.

"What was that?"

"Just stay away from Ash! It was disgusting to see you all up on another guy like that. That is a disgrace to the Capricorns."

"He was helping me get out of the cold." I push him away from me. "Go...away. until you can have a adult conversation with me." I turn around and stay silent. He tries to exchange another conversation with me but I Ignored him until he left.

I grab on to my phone and my earbuds and sit in front of the balcony sliding doors. I watch it snow really hard outside. I put in my earbuds and listen to a red hot chili peppers playlist. The first song that comes one is Under the Bridge. I hug my legs and zone out for awhile. In the reflection I see Melanie walk in with hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies. She sits next to the right me proceeds pulls out my right earbud.

"Aaron-"

"I really don't feel like hearing that name right now."

"You'll love this then, trust me. So he went up to this Sagittarius to try and start a fight. He even threw the first punch and ended up getting knocked out. Something about not talking to you at all and the Sagittariuss were like shouting "fight, fight, fight." And the guy PROCEEDED to one punch this man into the other boy Capricorns. Now the host had to break it up because the Capricorns and Sagittarius males were squaring up with each other. The thing was Sagittarius are the tallest people you can meet and the strongest people too. So that was like how chaotic the day was." I giggle and look at Melanie.

"That...is like weird. I know we don't get along well with the Sagittarius's, but we have never attempted to square up with them."

"Its sad because they are really hot."

"So how is it with your partner?"

"Hes amazing! We bonded immediately. I guess you and Aaron are the only ones that aren't bonding. That is so weird! Usually partners bond quickly, don't let it bother you too much. You always come up with something. That's how friendship started out! Remember?"

"Oh my gods, you were just so annoying and you just wanted to play with me. You literally yanked the book out of my hand and placed a plate of food in my lap because I hadn't ate all day. Then you hit me over the head with the book and proceeded to lecture me about how its important to eat. 'Knowledge is great and all, but food is just as important! You need 3 meals a day! Drink plenty of water! Snacks are good too in moderation! Blah blah blah." I mock her voice.

"You learned didnt you?"

"Only when you started shoving food in my face everyday. You even brought me water bottles." I laugh a little. "You could be a wonderful mother you know? I dont know if Goddess are allowed to have children tho...its not really stated if they have kids or not."

"I think it should be allowed." She hands me my hot chocolate and gives me my cookies. We sit there for awhile talking how we used to as kids. Ever since we got here, it feels like a huge weight has been lifted off of me. I may have a terrible partner, but I still have a support friend.
