Chapter 5I didn’t hear much from Justin over the next two days, specifically not whether he was going to actually show up or not, but I tried not to think about it as I set up for the gathering. “Tried” being the operative word, because as usual, Justin was never far from my mind. At eight-seventeen, Justin’s text tone chimed from my pocket and I scrambled to dig it out, nearly fumbling in the process. My fingers shook as I swiped up to get the message. Justin: I’m outside.
