“No way!” she snapped back, ice-cold.
It was Amber!
“Damn it, Amber! What the hell is wrong with you? Are you out of your mind?”
What did I do to deserve this? I swear, I didn’t even move from my seat during lunch.
Amber didn’t say a word. Her fingers were like a vice, twisted in my hair, and I was practically tripping over myself, trying to break loose.
The hallway was in chaos—people were shouting, making a scene. But this witch didn’t care. She dragged me right past everyone, her eyes practically on fire.
I stumbled, catching my foot on the doorway hoping that would help but she just pulled harder, her strength was too surprising for a girl. I bet her wolf is so strong after all she’s the Alpha’s daughter, the Alpha of Crescent moon pack.
We reached the girls’ restroom, and Amber flung me inside, slamming the door shut behind us. The lock clicked, and I was trapped.
I spun around, my heart racing, and faced Amber. Her brown eyes were darker, wild, her face twisted in a snarl.
“You think you’re so special, don’t you?” Amber sneered, shoving me against the cold wall causing a wave of pain to crush into me.
“Aww,” I winced in pain, only for the demoness to burst into evil ugly laughter, she was a real witch, I swear.
“Ryder seems to be paying much attention to you since you arrived. I don’t get it. You’re just a bookish girl with stupid glasses. Werewolves don’t even need glasses. They are pathetic!” She spat at me.
I glared at her in disbelief, my anger rising. “I’m not afraid to report you to the WCC. You’re breaking the rules…”
The WCC was a committee set up in every werewolf school to handle bullying issues between transformed and un transformed wolves. The transformed wolves tended to look at us like toys they could play with how ever they wished just because they had their powers. This was forbidden by the WCC.
Amber’s face twisted in a snarl. “You dare to fight back?” Her voice dripped with nothing but pure evil. “I’ll teach you a lesson one you will never forget, Haven.”
She raised her hand, ready to slap me, but I was quicker. I shoved her away, my heart racing with adrenaline.
Amber stumbled back, her eyes flashing with anger. We grappled in the cramped space of the restroom, our movements restricted by the tight space.
Amber tried to use her strength as a transformed werewolf, but I refused to back down. I couldn’t let her get the upper hand. I grabbed a nearby mop, wielding it like a sword. Amber laughed, but I didn’t back down.
I swung the mop at her, using it to deflect her attacks. She snarled, baring her teeth, but I held my ground.
“Am going to break those ugly things,” she said between gritted teeth. There was no way I was letting her do it.
I clutched the mop tightly, determined to protect myself and my glasses from the witch’s wrath.
Without my glasses, I felt vulnerable and exposed.
But Amber wasn’t just ready to stop not until she got what she wanted, after all she was a Daddy’s girl who got everything she wanted with just a snap of a finger. She was a spoilt brat!
She snarled and snapped, her fingers grasping for my face. I swung the mop, trying to keep her at bay, but she was too strong.
In a very swift movement, Ember grabbed my glasses and ripped them off my face. I felt a surge of panic as they fell to the floor.
Her eyes widened in astonishment as she took in my features.
My face, was very strikingly gorgeous, my father used to say I was more beautiful than the goddess herself but I bet he was just teasing me.
But what truly caught Amber’s attention were my eyes. They were like two glittering suns, with a warm, golden light that seemed to come from within. They shone with a soft, glow that seemed to originate from their depths.
Their shape was like a lotus flower, with delicate, petal like eyelids that seemed to unfurl like the gentle petals of a bloom. The irises were golden but seemed to shift from bright, shining yellow to deep, burnished copper, like the first blush of sunrise on a summer morning.
Amber gaped, her mouth hanging open in shock. For a moment, we just stared at each other, the tension between us faded for a moment. I felt vulnerable without my glasses and Amber’s gaze which was like a weight on me made me feel worse but I refused to look away. I stood tall, my golden eyes flashing with a fierce inner light.
And then, her expression changed. Her shock turned to anger, and she snarled, baring her teeth at me. “You’re not like us,” she spat, her voice venomous. “You’re a freak.”
Her eyes narrowed and I could notice that her mind was racing with disbelief. “How can a no body like you be gifted by the moon goddess with such striking beauty. This isn’t fair at all. And if that face is what attracts my Ryder to you then I will ruin it.”
With a growl, Amber raised her hand, her fingers folded into razor sharp claws. She swiped at my face, with an intention of scratching my face and damage it.
The good think was that I saw her attack coming, I raised my mop ready to defend myself. Just as Amber prepared to transform into her wolf and use it’s strength against me, the restroom door was suddenly kicked open with great force.
Aamon Blackwood who happened to be my bully number two who also happened to be her twin brother burst into the restroom, his eyes flashing with anger. “Leave her alone!” he shouted, shoving me away from his sister.
Amber cowered behind her brother, her eyes still fixed on me with hatred. Aamon positioned himself between us, his broad shoulders shielding his pathetic sister from my gaze. Their family is full of nothing but assholes, I wonder if it wasn’t a mistake the goddess did to make them come from an Alpha.
I crumpled to the ground, my head throbbing heavily. But before I could even process what was happening, a blur of motion appeared before me. Aamon’s gaze was locked onto mine and his forest green eyes were like a stormy sea that seemed to soften and a strange, possessive glint appeared in them. He brought his head down and I let out a grasp as he placed his head at the crook of my neck and inhaled.
“You’re mine,” he growled under my skin. His growl sending shivers all over my body.
My eyes were about to pop out of their sockets . Did he just call me his?
“Mate…,” Something animalistic growled through him.
“Haven, you’re mine,” he declared, his voice low and husky. “You’re mate.”
I was taken aback, shocked by his sudden claim. “No,I’m not your mate!” I protested, scrambling to my feet.
But the bastard just smiled, a confident smirk spreading across his face. “Oh, but you are,” he said, his eyes burning with a dangerous intensity. “I can sense it. And I won’t let anyone else have you.”
Panting heavily, I picked up my glasses and put them on, ensuring my eye color was concealed once more. “I, Haven Alexandria III Lachlan Richmond, reject you Aamon Blackwood, of Crescent moon pack.”
I glared at the siblings, giving them my deadly daggers, making sure they got the message that I was not a force to be reckoned with.
“You’re both a bunch of idiots,” I spat at them, before turning on my heel and storming out of the restroom.

On my way home, I reached for my phone and texted to Eros, my online friend. She was one of my best fans, she was always among the first 5 people to comment on every chapter I posted. Her comments encouraged me so much, she made me learn to believe in my self.
“Eros, I’ve had the worst day ever,” I typed, my thumbs flying across the screen. “Aamon, Ember’s brother, just claimed me as his mate! I know it’s another trap, just like Ryder. And to make matters worse, Aamon is friends with that asshole!”
I paused, taking a deep breath before continuing.
“I hate them, Eros! I fuckin hate them. I won’t accept Aamon as my mate. I don’t care if he’s handsome or that he is soon to be heir of the Alpha title of one of the biggest packs in the universe. I won’t fall for it again."
I hit send, feeling a mix of emotions, anger, fear, and determination run through my body. I wouldn’t let myself be fooled again.
I took a deep breath, tossed my phone back into my bag pack, as Eros always replied late, she must have a really busy schedule which is why we usually talked at night.
But, there was no way I was ever going to back down. I was done being a pawn in their stupid games.
