Nicholas escorted Brianna into a spacious cabin on Admiral Harcourt’s ship. He kept himself calm, at least as far as the other seamen aboard could see, but deep down he was so relieved he could scarcely believe he’d succeeded. He’d found her and saved her before . . . He tried not to think about what those men would have done to her. She’d fought like a lioness, but she’d been outnumbered. He kept his arm around her shoulders and noticed she was starting to shake against him. The same often happened to him after a dangerous fight at sea. He’d shake for several minutes until the shock of it all wore off. She’d most likely be furious with him once she got back to feeling like herself again. “Where are we?” she asked. Her voice sounded almost numb. “One of the officer’s cabins. Why don’t y
