Chapter 2

“Magnus! You, bastard!”

Mrs. Hilda Mateo shouts as she enters his son's mansion. The reek of alcohol, the empty cans and bottles here and there, and empty trays with some leftover foods on the floor. Used condoms and some broken glasses were scattered everywhere as if a crime scene happened last night.

This is Magnus' life almost every day. But she felt her child would not exceed his limit. She still cherishes and is full of expectations for him. She knows his child is desperate and keeps looking for the person he likes. Despite having a gay child, she loves him so much, that even Magnus hates her. She realized the reason behind why her son ended up rebellious and messing his life up like s**t.

She can't blame him. Furthermore, she started the mess with herself. It was all her fault.

Magnus is a bachelor party-goer who loves to fool around and bring his friend to his mansion.

Once in a week or two, she visits her son, checking him and making sure his son's household needs a hand to clean them.

She checked her son who is still sleeping naked in his bedroom. She shook her head in disappointment but what she will do?

It is the weekend but she needs to visit the hospital. She is receiving an important call and as the Director and owner, she must abide by her own rules.

She then dialed her butler and asked some workers to come over to Magnus's house.

Nyx's head is aching. He doesn't know where he will take 5 million Peso to pay the hospital bill. He was really hopeless but finally, he decided to meet the owner of the hospital. He heard it is the Director.

"I'm a graduating student but I stopped. I have no more money to support my studies and that's why I am here. I have no cash or anything to pay the hospital bill." Nyx just lowers his head while explaining.

"Do you know about household works, cooking, laundry, etcetera?"

"Yes, mam. I can do everything.." Nyx grew up preparing things for himself and his Dad. Since his Dad was hospitalized and fell into a coma, Nyx stopped studying and focused on earning money through many different kinds of jobs.

Every month, he needs to pay the bill, until he can't pay it anymore and he sold their house and everything that can turn into money until his father died. Now Nyx is still working but even the savings and the money from the house still didn't reach half of the bill.

"Well then, if you will agree to my offer and condition..your bill is paid. I will let you sign a contract to make sure you will comply and the agreement is legal."

"Thank you, mam, I am sorry..."

"Don't apologize, dear, I know you tried your best to find the cash to pay your hospital bill but it's been six months now and you paid only 10 percent of the total bill. Anyway...I'm not a bad owner of this hospital and I'm just with my business but I'm a good heart dear."

"Thank you again, ma'am..."

"Then I guess you can start today." The owner of the hospital smiles and sighs.

"I didn't bring my things and clothes.."

"Oh, don't worry I will let you take your important things in your house and abandon the place. I will buy your new clothes and so on. You will live there, all you need to do is serve him well, cook good food, maintain cleanliness and make yourself feel at home, ok."

"I will mam.."

"Oh, one more thing, you can continue your studies. But that would be added to your bill.." Nyx's eyes widened as he was surprised. He is happy to know he can continue his studies.

Nyx quickly bowed his head with respect and he was grateful. It doesn't matter if he will work for many years as a helper as long as he can continue his studies, it's not a problem for him at all.

As he entered the mansion, Nyx was amazed at how huge and elegant it was. The interior design and the walls are all painted in white.

Oh gosh, stains can be seen easily.

Nyx's first impression of the house. Nyx familiarized himself with the kitchen first and finally, he found the things he needed to use for cleaning and so on.

He saw the sink had some bowls and cups that were used earlier. He washes and dries it and puts it back on the cupboard.

When he was done in the kitchen he followed the living room. Nothing much to clean and arrange but he didn't touch anything as he wanted to ask the owner first.

Nyx checks every room upstairs, the five rooms are locked except the one in the middle. He assumes it's the master's bedroom so he opens the door and fixes the bedding, he goes to the bathroom and cleans it. He arranges the perfumes and toiletries and places back the shaver and cream to the cabinet.

When he feels everything is well organized and in its proper place he vacuums and cleans up the dust and after two hours, the room is clean and pleasant again. Feeling content, he left the room and closed the door again.

Nyx checked the garden and saw the pool with some leaves. He decided to clean it tomorrow as he is already tired. He opens the fridge to see what he can cook because he is hungry already.

He decided to cook chow mein, mapo tofu, and dumplings. When he is done, he tries some until he gets full and places the food on the table. He was shocked to see the time was already 7 in the evening.

He doesn't know what time the owner will arrive so he decided to take shower.

Nyx doesn't know that the owner of the house arrived already and happily eats at the dining table. Nyx is drying his hair while wearing basketball shorts. He didn't wear the pair because he doesn't know if he is allowed to use the aircon in the servant's quarter. He needs to wait for the owner.

Nyx feels thirsty and hot so he gets out of the room half-naked. Because the towel is covering his face and the owner of the house is shocked at the sight and not talking at all. Nyx continues to walk to the fridge and get the pitcher and fill the glass of water and drink it in one go.

He didn't know that a pair of eyes were feasting on his half-naked body and his throat kept bobbing up and down with the sight from his hairy belly.

Nyx placed the glass in the sink and he was startled and almost separated his soul from his body when a clinking sound of chopsticks and a hard cough echoed in the dining room. To his shock, a man is choking and his face is so red.

Nyx's mind quickly works and grabs the glass that he used to fill with the water from the pitcher and quickly runs to the man and lets him drink the water.

Nyx rubs the back of the man until he recovers. Nyx pulls some ply of tissue and wipes the mouth of the man who is just staring blankly.

"Excuse me, sir, are you okay now?"

"Mn." The man said.

"Errr, sir. I am Nyx, the new helper in this house. I assumed you were the owner. I am sorry, I will put on my upper cloth first then I will introduce myself properly." Nyx said with a smiling face and was about to leave but the man stopped him.

"No need."

Nyx halted and suddenly covered his body from embarrassment.

"Who gives you the permit to intrude on my house?"

"I'm sorry sir, the owner, and CEO of the hospital brought me here and she said I will work as a helper here," Nyx explained. Nyx noticed that the man was uncomfortable and kept glancing at his body secretly but he always caught him.

Because the towel is too small, it can't cover his body. It is impolite if he will cover his body purposely in front of the owner of the house. They are both males, after all, so Nyx acted normal since the owner didn't want him to go back to his room first and put his shirt on.

"Did you cook all of this?" The man asked.

"Yes sir, I'm sorry if it's not your liking. Let me know the food you prefer to eat."

"No. I love it."

Due to excitement, Nyx's eyes widen, and smiles widely, and comes closer to the man.

"Really sir? Thank you, I will cook some great food and I'll make sure you will love it." Nyx said happily while their eyes were twinkling and forgetting he is half-naked. He is standing in front of the man's while sitting. The face of the man is facing his chest and that made his ear tips turn red.

Nyx noticed it so he pulled his body away and stepped backward.

"Which part of the house have you touched already?"

"Oh, I'm sorry for touching your back sir but I just want to comfort you... haha... I mean I clean up your room, living room, and here. I will clean the pool and garden tomorrow."

"Follow me." The man said and started to walk upstairs. Nyx obeyed and they entered the room that he cleaned earlier.

"Open the air purifier after you finish cleaning or before I arrive. Open the lampshade at 7 p.m. including the aircon to 23 degrees. Make sure the windows are closed. Nyx just nods, listening carefully and memorizing it.

They walk to the bathroom and the owner checks the things he arranges. The man was surprised. Everything is properly arranged and in its exact and proper place. The man smirks and speaks.

"Fill the bathtub with hot water and put this one sachet at 7:15 pm. Prepare a big white towel and hang it here."

"What else do you want, Sir?" Nyx eyes looking at the man with his doe eyes.

The man looks at him again down to his body and it was so obvious that he gulped his saliva once more. Nyx has no idea what is going on with the man, why he keeps gulping and his ear is getting red.

"You... I mean. You inform me if everything is settled and prepared."

"Okay, sir. With due respect sir, I wish to wear my clothes first, please excuse me." Nyx stands properly and bows his head and turns his body.

The man left dumbfounded, sweating so much, and kept gulping his saliva and mumbling.
