Love, Family & MY “FEARLESS” SECOND ACT IV

“You are not obliged to go anywhere! You can get off this bus right now and go rogue! Take your chances in the woods or go to the human world or find another pack to go to on your own? You have choices, Nola!” stated Mrs. Bertha. “How far away from the Black Furries Pack are we right now?” I asked. “Two and half to three hours depending on traffic!” replied Ms. Mary to me. “So, I have about two hours to get some real distance between me and this place?” I questioned them. “That’s correct!” replied Mrs. Bertha to me. “Trina, I have to make a run for it!” I informed her. Trina is my best friend, but she is also an omega. I must let her make her own decisions. I don’t want to force her to go on the run with me if she really wants her new life in the Black Furries Pack. “Well, I’m going with you! All I have left is an evil ass stepdad! I’m never going back to him. I’m with you! We have been rocking this long, and I’m sticking with you! Ride or Die! You are my sister and I love you!” she replied. “Okay! I love you, too, Trina! Thanks so much! Mrs. Bertha and Ms. Mary for giving me the heads-up! Let’s go, Trina!”, I stated glad that Trina would be accompanying me. I grabbed my duffle bag and tote. I walked into the bus station, grabbed two maps and left. We already had snacks and drinks. Trina had her one duffle bag. We walked through the woods three towns over to the train station. I called Alpha Zane of the Safe Haven Pack located north of Silver Springs, Colorado using a human pay phone. I explained myself and Trina’s situation and requested sanctuary. He granted us permission and gave us the exact address to his pack. I brought two tickets, and we boarded a train going to Silver Spring, Colorado in fifteen minutes. We were told it would take us eight hours to arrive, so we slept the whole ride. Alpha Zane was rumored to be rejected himself and had started his own pack after leaving his old pack. He had found an old, abandoned pack land in a mountainous area. The land was not large. He accepted all manner of rejected and banished or wolves that went rogue for one reason or another. I discovered his pack by listening to jailhouse talk plus by doing and internet search to see if it was true. Once I found him online, I memorized his contact information just in case I ever needed it. I never planned to return to my ex- Hudson. That ship sailed away a long time ago. I hoped the rumor that he did not hold or attend Mating Balls was also true. I’m not ready for another mate yet. To be honest, I don’t know if I ever will be. I’m still trying to get rid of my old mate. We were glad to get off the train, to be honest. We quickly ate breakfast in town that morning. We knew it would be a good long walk through the forest to get to our new pack. We really needed to stretch our legs. We couldn’t shift into our wolves because of our bags, plus it wouldn’t be safe. We can’t risk attracting attention to us. A white wolf with topaz eyes and an omega wolf spotted together in the woods would spell danger for both of us. We didn’t reach our destination until late afternoon. We stood at the pack gates. It wasn’t anything fancy, just a plain simple wooden farm gate down a long dirt road. Very non-descript and unnoticeable. The man at the gate looked right at us for a long minute and then asked,” Nola and Trina? Am I correct?” “Yes, Sir!” I replied. “Alpha Zane is on his way; it won’t be long!” he said to both of us. We both said, “Thank you!” and stood waiting. The man wasn’t wrong. It took all of ten minutes for Alpha Zane to arrive, he strolled on down the dirt road on foot at a casual pace. He was a tall man with broad shoulders and brown curly hair, combed neatly back. He had dark blue eyes and a square jaw. He was handsome, like most Alphas. I couldn’t tell how old he was. He looked to be about thirty but with his genes. He could be well over a hundred for all I knew. I noticed he looked me over and then sighed heavily as he came to a halt at the pack gate. “So, which one of you is Nola Aisha Gaye?” “That would be me, Alpha Zane! Thank you again for letting us come to your pack!” I said to him. Thinking this should be interesting. I can’t let this man know I am a Zeta wolf or a wealthy heiress. Plus, I need to gain his trust. “I don’t believe I have ever seen a pair of Topaz blue eyes before. They are quite stunning to look at! Are they contacts?” he said to me. “Thank you! And No!” I replied to him. Trina was trying to hold in her laugh. She knew I hated for people to comment on my eye color because it usually followed with something stupid coming out of their mouths. However, I had taken off my sunglasses so that we could get this out of the way with Alpha Zane. “You’re Welcome! So, you must be the good friend that wanted to stick by Nola’s side! Welcome, Trina! Let’s get you both initiated into the pack. Walk with me up to the packhouse.” said Alpha Zane. “Yes! I am and her eyes turn varies shades of blue depending on her mood. Like a moon ring!” Trina said, laughing and amused. She knows I hate it when people comment on my eye color. Like, chocolate sisters can’t have natural blue eyes. She felt we needed to know if we could trust him with our safety sooner versus later. We walked beside him up the dirt road. “Are you interested in a warrior rank and position?” asked Alpha Zane. “Yes, Alpha Zane!” I confirmed. “Good, I will have Warrior Ben test your skill set in the morning. Trina, my Luna, will work with you tomorrow to find the perfect job for you. Right now, we only have three babies. No need for a real daycare! How old are you, Trina?” inquired Alpha Zane.
