1. Pop The Champagne

1610 Words
Steps on how to Lose your V-card - No matter how Johnny persuades me to do it, do not pop the champagne. I repeat. DO NOT pop the champagne. I may not regret it now, but I sure as hell will regret it later. The line goes all the way to the dumpsters at the back but luckily for the girls and I, we have an inside man. Leilani calls him our savior. I call him my hero. Nonetheless, it’s the same damn thing because that’s who he is. Our big brother, our Onii San, our Lord and Savior. His name is Jonathan Duke. “Alright babies,” he winks at my girlfriends, displaying the masks that were on a tray held by a waiter. I could still hear the other people at the line groan and complain because we got in with zero to no problems. Hehe, eat my dust. “Let’s get you guys covered up. Don’t want your flings tonight getting attached” he chimes, specifically smirking at me. I roll my eyes before darting them towards Leilani. My sneaky best friend grins at me before putting on her mask. I don’t need a damn Einstein to tell me that Leilani had included our friend Johnny on her quest to get me laid tonight. “Here you should have this mask,” Renee offers me a sexy black kitty mask. “Renee,” I start to whine but Leilani puts her finger to my lips with just the right amount of pressure that avoids smudging my lipstick. “Ah ah ah! You’re gonna need this Hali. This and a f.ucking truckload of alcohol” she laughs wickedly, taking the mask from our other friend and placing it on my face. Johnny lets out a low approving whistle and The gleam in Leilani’s eyes makes me wonder whether she actually took some alcohol or weed before we got here. “Ayyyyyy. Hermosa!” She twirls me around for my friends, displaying me like a damn artifact at the museum. Our last friend Tate wraps her arms around my waist and begins to hump my ass, making funny and exaggerated moan sounds. We all laugh at our silly antics and wonder briefly whether we are in high school and don’t have budding careers. In as much as my friends love to party, they barely have the time. Leilani is a talented fashion designer that landed a huge job with a high fashion brand in Manhattan, Renee is already in Residency and Tatum works in the same Law Firm with Johnny. The same Law firm that I just got a job with. “Okay that O.rgasm face is hot! It’s No wonder why Danny keeps coming back” Leilani laughs at Tate. “They always come back,” Tate rubs her cheeks with mine, purring softly into my ear. We loosen up and the rest of the girls pick their masks before Johnny leads us in. Wow. The music is so loud that its giving me a headache on entry and to be honest, I want to go home but Leilani’s grip on my hand would never let me. We came here with an agenda tonight. An agenda that every one of my friend is on. The walls are high and the ceilings so huge. Half n.aked and completely n.aked Pole dancers and strippers hang onto the poles and gyrate their bodies to the beat of the music. The neons light are all over and raining down their magnetic hues on the vast crowd in the club. It was so damn large and filled that I didn’t even see a single patch of space on the floor. Excitement rushes down my spine in one long, thrilling shiver and I grip Leila’s hand right back to show I approve. However, Johnny doesn’t let us on the dance floor first. He leads us right to the flight of stairs and takes us to a round booth. I look back to the security on the foot of the staircase and was certainly intrigued that they did not hinder us from getting here. The view of the crowd is amazing from here. “VIP?” I question, turning towards Johnny. His approving grin is already my answer. “Hali, if you’re gonna get f.ucked tonight we’re gonna have to do it with class” he chuckles. I sigh at his majestic movements and find myself wishing to be like him- again. Johnny Duke at Twenty Eight has everything that I wish and want to be. He rents the penthouse floor in our apartment building and rides the cleanest Camero I’ve ever seen. At his young age, Johnny is already a Junior Partner at his Law firm. He’s Pansexual and I see him as someone who is absolutely liberated, something I’m definitely not. Everything about him is perfect. From his successful career and s.ex life that is most definitely budding, one could say I do envy him. Oddly, Johnny was my boyfriend when I was in Sophomore year in Cornell University of New York. And yes, he is one of my many exes that cheated on me. I cried my eyes out for a week and stopped talking to him for a year but eventually, we patched things up. At the time, I was very much sour that Johnny cheated on me with a guy. I hate to say this but I don’t blame him. We weren’t the best match and I couldn’t say I was in love with him. I’ve always known him to be an active person s.exually and I can’t really give that to him. In a way, He remindes me of my younger and very much annoying brother Mason. The thought of sleeping with someone that reminded me of my little brother wasn’t the most appealing. We were honestly better off as best friends and he gave me zeal to push for my law career. “Alright! The drinks are here” Johnny cheer as the waiters bring in our drinks and glasses. He picks the champagne immediately and hands it over to me. “Let’s say a prayer tonight” he smirked, gesturing for me to stand up. I glance at him quizzically. “We are all gathered here today because Hali landed a job at Calhoun & Dale Law Firm and gets to work with Tate and I! So you, better stop moping around because you deserve to get wasted” he narrows his eyes at me. “But I’m not moping!” I defend myself, looking to Leilani for support. She doesn’t offer me that as she averts her gaze. “Really?” I huff. “Alright baby, pop the champagne and lead us into a night filled with doom” Johnny smirks at me. I stand up and the girls hoot at me when I shake the champagne bottle fiercely and pop it. Johnny leans in to my ear and whispers, “You better pop that cherry the way you popped the champagne tonight” I roll my eyes at his childish antics and swat his shoulders. He smiles at me before filling a glass with some champagne. “Here you go. Don’t sip it. Chug” he wiggles his eyebrows, green eyes dancing mischievously. “S.hit’s going to burn,” I state. “That’s the point Hali. Chug until it burns. We need you extra drunk because that’s the only time you have confidence” Leilani states. My friends burst into a fit of giggles as they recall some memories of my liquid courage. I’d squeezed the s.hit out of some random dude’s balls until he was squealing like a hopeless pig. I had assumed he was a.ssaulting Leilani but I had no Damn idea they were hooking up. That was the most embarrassing thing that had happened to me. “Fine” I say, taking the glass from Johnny. I gulp it in one go before slamming the glass on the table. The champagne makes my throat burn and a fiery fuzzy feelings spreads across every single nerve ending on my body. “Give me more” I push my glass towards Johnny again, licking my lips excitedly. “Harlequin is about to resurrect” Renee giggles in amusement, nudging Tate to watch me as I start gulping down this alcohol. It’s the nickname they gave me back in college when I manifested just how crazy I could get on alcohol. If I wasn’t so busy with Law school and building my Resume, I would have been a damn alcoholic. I’m regularly shy around anyone that isn’t my friend and hence, liquor is all I can run to for courage. However, I barely ever drink at all. Because once I start, I don’t stop until I’m crazy. “Can you see how many fingers I’m holding out?” Johnny wags his fingers in my face, worried that I’m too intoxicated. “Three i.diot” I roll my eyes, pushing his hands away from my face. “Perfect!” He claps his hands. “She’s good to go. I’m leaving the matchmaking to the rest of you” he gestures towards my friends as he stands up. “It’s time to entertain my own d.ick” His kiss and goodbye wave is muffled by our disgusted groans. “Now let’s go fishing” Leilani chirps, rising on her feet and gesturing for me to stand up too. “Yes!” We all chorus our affirmation, excited to dance the night off. The girls and I rise and leave the booth with dancing on our minds.
