"It's a good thing we ran into each other then.." I commented, And followed her into the elevator, which was already packed with people.
BELLA
The car ride to Theo's house was quite short, making me wonder at how close we lived to each other. I thought the almighty Theo Zverev lived in a damn castle on some faraway land, and usually flew over the city, in a damn helicopter.
If I had known he was close, I would have.....nothing. I huffed in annoyance as the car rolled to a stop in front of an apartment complex. To say I was unimpressed was to say the least. I payed the cab driver his money, and alighted from the car, wasting no time walking into the entrance of the building.
The place looked like a damn glass house... literally. And also felt too cold for my liking.
Don't get me wrong, I lived in an apartment complex too, but the darkness of this one, made it look like a bunch of alien scientists, and not mere humans, lived in it.
I looked around, and seeing no sign of an elevator, decided to walk over to the receptionist, who had been glaring at me ever since I walked in.
"Hi, Good morning." I said to her, and gave her one of my fakest smiles. A smile that only I knew wax faked, and had used it a lot of times since I was a child, to get whatever I wanted, and in situations like this.
The receptionist continued to stare at me, even blatantly running her gaze over me. I had an inkling feeling she was siding me up, to know if I was suitable enough to walk in her presence.
"How may I help you? Are you lost?" She asked. The question threw me off, as it was impossible to get so lost, I would walk into an apartment complex like this one.
I resisted the urge to hot my hand on the counter, and instead, just gently placed it there. "I have an appointment with someone here, and I need to know where the elevator is." I told her as calmly as I could, not wanting to do what I actually had in mind.
The woman looked at me again, with the same nonchalance, before leaning back on her seat. "And may I ask who your appointment is with?" She asked, sounding very curious.
I would have played her game, and refused to tell her who it was, bit decided against it, since I didn't exactly know the policies they had in their building. A place where Theo Zverev lived, had to be guided by a lot of rules and regulations.
"Theo Zverev." I said curtly, and pulled out Theo's card, pushing it to her.
The look she gave, followed by a gasp, was comical, and I almost laughed put loud, but held myself back.
Was Thro that scary, even to people who worked in the apartment where he lived?
She pushed the card back to me, and pointed at a hallway, just by the corner. "Just walk over there, a d on your right, you would see a like up of elevators." Her voice was meek, as she spoke.
I nodded, thanking her under my breath, before walking in the direction she showed me.
I saw the elevators and heaved a sigh of relief, before stepping into one of them, where someone had just stepped out. Then I took my card and looked to the floor number Theo had scribbled out for me.
Twenty eight.
Damn. that was high.
Now that I was in his apartment, and just minutes away from meeting him, I could help but feel a little bit of nervousness, trickle down my spine. What was he going to say? What was I going to say? How would we go about it? What was the contract going to contain? Would Theo keep his word?
All these questions rushed through my mind.
I bit down on the inside of my lip, grateful for the privacy in the elevator, as it gave me time to prepare. my father had been calling throughout the morning, and I had refused to answer his call, just so I won't be discouraged to continue my agreement with Theo.
The elevator doors opened, and to my surprise, I was faced with just one door, in the short hallway.
I frowned and stepped into the hallway, looking around to see if I was indeed seeing clearly.
I looked at the card again, and sure enough, it was the same letters on the card. TZ, written in gold.
I let out a little laugh.
Of course, Theo had to have a floor all to himself.
I walked to the door, and after taking a deep breath, knocked.
THEO
I stood just inside my study, staring at the woman in my hallway. Even with the boy so clear cctv camera, she looked stunning, dressed like a damn college student. She was wearing a checkered shirt, tucked into a pinafore, which stopped just in the middle of her thigh, giving me a full blown glimpse of her long legs. I adjusted my trousers and swallowed.
On her feet were a pair of ankle boots, which matched her outfit perfectly. Everything was perfect.
I groaned as I tore my eyes away from the monitor making my way towards the door.
Why did she have to be so beautiful?
Why couldn't she be unattractive, so these two years would fly like the sands of time?
If she had been unattractive, it would have been easier to ignore her, and focus on the partnership. But now, it was looking like two years of cold showers day and night.
I pressed the button that would release the door, and waited just a few feet away from the door. I didn't want to be near her when it opened.
Her legs were the first thing I saw, when the door slid open, and once again, I groaned at the sight. But inwardly, this time.
"You are here, early." I said, trying to sound rude, and nonchalant. I folded my arms across my chest and watched as she walked into the house, eyes wide.
At my words, she looked at me, raiding her chin defiantly. "My parents taught me the importance of punctuality, when it came to business." She replied, and looked away from me, checking out my house.
And for the first time since I got the apartment, I felt the confidence, of it's taste, leave me. Every woman I had ever brought to my house, had gushed over it. But as Bella looked at it with scrutiny, i felt off. She was an interior designer after all. Maybe it wasn't up to her taste?
The house was mostly a midnight blue, and in places which needed a lighter color, grey. I hadn't personally picked the color, but I thought it was nice.
I cleared my throat as I looked for something to say. "Well, of only they know you are about to sell your soul to the devil." I mused, gesturing for her to follow me, now that I had grabbed her full attention. At my words, she looked at me like I had a horn growing on my head.
"I'm not selling my soul to the devil. Don't think to highly of yourself, Zverev." She bit out icily. I just smirked, and shook my head, leading her into the main living room.
"Then what is this? You should know this is a devil's bargain." I told her. "Sit." She narrowed her eyes at me, but did as I asked.
"Call it whatever you like, Zverev. But to me, it's just business. Something that would be beneficial to both you and I." I scoffed at her words, wanting to tell her that she was not only going to waste two years of my life, but was the only one gaining anything from our marriage. But everything I was about to say, got hooked in my throat once she crossed one leg over the other, in her attempt to sit like a lady.
Christ.
My jaws clenched as I tried so hard to bite down on them, in my sorry attempt to distract myself from what I was seeing. It was hard....so hard....Fuck.
I was given a view of her creamy thighs, as her dress had ridden up, further up her thighs, exposing a crazy amount of flesh to my eager eyes. I felt my c**k go rock hard as I thought of things I could do to her right then and there. I knew her skin was going to be as soft as they looked...even softer.....damn.
I cleared my throat again, finally using all the strength I had in me to drag my eyes away from her thighs, and over to her face. "Would you like something to drink?" I asked, my voice sounding a little bit hoarse. Oh hell!
Bella, who had been looking at something behind me, brought her gaze back to mine, and I was instantly hit with the need to kiss her. Without waiting for her to answer, I proceeded to the kitchen, wanting to walk away as fast as I could.
"Yes. Water is fine." She said, when I was about two steps away from her. So I just nodded without looking back, and proceeded to the kitchen.
Once I entered, I let out a breath, leaning back on the door. "What the hell!" I whispered to myself.. Micheal had most certainly given me more than I could chew.
I took deep breaths, trying the calm my thumping heart, which had increased it's beat as my arousal had increased.
I looked down at my trousers, thankful for the way the shirt I wore covered my arousal. Because, once I raised the hem of my shirt, I could see the outline of my c**k as it stretched my trousers, straining against my zipper.
Fuck.
How could just the sight of someone's legs and thighs, do this to me.
"Go down, you idiot." I said, eying the sorry state of my c**k. If it heard me, it probablywas mocking me, because a picture of Bella's thigh flashed through my mind, and I groaned in frustration as I did something I hardly ever did.
Oh f**k.
