The Annals of UlsterCreachaibh do chur a n-Erinn, .i. a dún Áth Cliath, la Maol Finnia mac Flannacáin co Feraibh Brega & la Cerball mac Muircueurtaigh Laighneach; agus do thréigeadar líon maith dá longaibh, agus do theicheadar leath-mharbh iar n-a chineadh agus a briseadh.
Translation from Gaelic into modern English:
The heathens were driven from Ireland, that is, from the fortress of Áth Cliath, by Mael Finnia son of Flannacán with the men of Brega and by Cerball son of Muiricán, with the Laigin; and they abandoned a good number of their ships and escaped half dead after they had been wounded and broken.
