Beth’s gasp rang out in the otherwise deadly silence and Lily held her breath as James lifted his hand to tenderly touch his lightly bleeding and misshapen nose. His jaw ticked and Lily could practically hear his teeth grinding together as his eyes darkened into two fiery pits of rage.
