“Are they leaving?” I asked, hoping that Derek’s charge had scared them off. “It looks like it,” Mr. Woodard said, “but you can never be too careful with sharks. They don’t always do what you think they are going to do.” “What about the others?” I asked. “The three that are still swimming around out there?” “I don’t know,” he said. “I don’t think they’re scared. They might be waiting to see what’s going to happen. You know, let the other four do the hard work, or they might be up to something.” I was getting nervous.
