Back at the police station, Brian, looking deflated, returned to his desk. His request for a search warrant at Chris' place had been denied again. Picking up his phone, he noticed he had missed a call from an unknown number.
"You're finally back," his colleague Eric said. "Your phone rang a few times. It was your private line, so we didn't pick up."
Brian called back the number, which turned out to be a payphone at the airport.
