“I thought you would prefer a simple date instead of a fancy restaurant and since this is the last day they are here….” He trailed off while he took the blindfolds off of me. My mouth opened on its own while I took our surroundings in. He took me to an amusement park. I heard about it all the time in the orphanage, this is those children biggest wish to come here once and actually, I was curious too. “Do you like it?” Ryker asked and I looked at him with teary eyes. “I love it, thank you.” I told him and hugged him tightly. “Sorry.” I told him emotionally when I pulled away and he waved it off. “Don’t worry, I enjoyed it.” He joked, referring to the hug. “Were you here before?” He asked and I shook my head. “No, I didn’t get the chance but I always wanted to.” I told him with a smile. He knows that I am an orphan, just like the whole school, thanks to Jade. “I figured it out, that’s why I brought you here.” He said with a proud grin. “Let’s go inside.” He took my hand and I looked at him slightly surprised, with a blushing face. “There are a lot of people in here and I don’t want to lose track of you.” He explained when he saw my expression and I nodded my head with a smile. We went on some rides, ate a lot of junk food. He won a stuffed leopard for me and we had a lot of fun. I don’t even remember the last time I had such a good time. Now we are sitting by a hotdog stand and feeding cotton candy to each other while I am giggling like a school girl that I actually was. “Look at them Kevin. Are the two of you a couple now?” I heard her annoying voice. I can’t believe they are here exactly today when we are. What a coincidence, right? Note the sarcasm. “Why are you everywhere I go? Are you following me?” I asked her while I rolled my eyes. Kevin was just staring at us, without a word. “Don’t make me laugh. Why would I follow a no one like you? It doesn’t matter if you don’t wear those ugly glasses anymore...” She said and Ryker moved to stand up with a hard expression on his face, but I put my hand on his arm to hold him back. “If I am no one, then why did you stop to talk to me? Just walk further and stop bothering us.” I told her and stood up while I pulled Ryker with me. “Burn…” Ryker said with a chuckle. “Let’s go, I need some fresh air.” I told him and he let out a laugh and kissed my cheek while Jade was fuming in anger. “You are something, you know that? She couldn’t even talk, the b**ch. I don’t even know what Kevin is doing with her.” He said when we walked towards the exit. “Agreed. By the way, why are the two of you enemies?” I asked him and he looked down. “Actually, because of a chick. We were best friends before, but we fell in love with the same girl a few years ago. In the end, we found out she was playing both of us, but our friendship was ruined already.” He said sadly. “That’s sad.” I told him and took his hand in mine boldly, but he didn’t seem like he minded it. “Let’s go home princess.” He told me with a smile and I blushed at the nickname. Nobody gave me any cute nickname before, only mocking ones like nerd or four eyes. We headed to the car because I needed to be back before curfew. “I want to ask you something.” He said nervously while his eyes were on the road. “What is it?” I asked him with a smile. I don’t want him to be nervous about asking anything. He was nothing but good to me in this short time we met each other. “Will you be my girlfriend?” He asked after he parked the car in the front of the orphanage. He looked at me lovingly and I knew the answer right away. “Yes, I will.” I told him with a smile and he let out a sigh of relief and smiled at me. “Good night, princess.” He said and leaned towards me. He stopped a few inches away from my face waiting for me to close the gap between us, and I did. I kissed his soft lips and he pulled me closer with a hand on my waist. He was so big, he moved my tiny body easily, like I weighted nothing. “Good night.” I told him with a blush when we pulled away and he chuckled at my expression lightly. “See you tomorrow.” He said and we were both smiling from ear to ear. I got out of the car and headed inside. I heard him driving away right when I closed the door. He is so nice. It was a perfect day. I started to really like him. He is my boyfriend now, my first boyfriend who had my first kiss already. I took a shower and lay down on my bed. I can’t help but remember how Kevin just stood there without saying anything. He is so mysterious, I don’t know what his deal is. It’s also strange that they went to the amusement park at the same time as we were there. All in all, it was a perfect day, thanks to Ryker. I smile to myself when I think about how cute he is and, finally, I close my eyes to fall asleep. * *** * The next day, I woke up with a smile on my face. Everyone was still sleeping in the room, so I got up quietly and headed to the bathroom to start to get ready. I put my contact lenses on and straighten my hair. I use some make-up again, not so much, just enough to make me a bit more confident. When I was done, I walked out of the building after grabbing some food and headed to school. To my biggest surprise, I saw Ryker’s car parked in the front of the orphanage. ‘Did he come to pick me up?’ My heart fluttered from the thought and I walked up to him with a huge smile on my face. He got out of the car and to my surprise, he pulled me to himself for a kiss. “Good morning to you too.” I joked when we broke the kiss and he chuckled. “Good morning princess, did you sleep well?” He asked while his arms were still around my waist and I couldn’t stop smiling. “Yes, I did and you?” I asked him while he opened the door for me. “Me too. Do you have a phone, by the way? I wanted to call you so badly but I realised I don’t have your number.” He said with a laugh as he sat in the car. “No, I don’t have one, but I wanted to buy one soon.” “Good, I will take you today. What do you say?” He asked and started the car. “If you are not busy, I am fine with it.” I told him and he waved it off. “I am not, I want to spend time with you anyway.” He said, and I am melting in my seat, he is the cutest. When we pulled up in the school parking lot, he opened the door for me and all eyes were on us. He took my hand and helped me to get out and didn’t let go of my hand even for a moment after that. “Thank you for bringing me.” I told him shyly. “Your welcome princess, but actually I did it for selfish reasons because I wanted to see you.” He said with a silly smile and I laughed at him. He turned to me and looked into my eyes seriously. He looks at me with so much intensity, I even forget about the nosy people around us. Then he leaned in and captured my lips in a passionate kiss. I got lost in him and I heard some people cheering around us. We broke apart for some air and I looked up with a blushing face to see a lot of students were watching us. I caught the eyes of an angry-looking Kevin and as our eyes met, he stormed away furiously. ‘What the hell is his problem?’ I asked myself, but actually I don’t want to think about that now. It’s the last few days of school, I have two more exams and I am out of here for good. “See you later?” I asked Ryker when we reached my classroom and he pressed his lips on mine once again. I love his kisses, his lips are so soft and skillful. “I will wait for you by the lockers.” He said with a smile and walked away. I can’t believe I have a boyfriend now, and a handsome one at that. While I had a crush on Kevin, I didn’t even look at any other boys. What a waste of time. “Kylie…” Myra called out to me when I walked into the classroom and she waved me over excitedly to sit with her. “I see your date went well yesterday.” She said teasingly and I was blushing at the thought. “Yes, it was amazing.” I told her while I looked towards the window and caught Kevin’s eyes on me again. I totally forgot we shared this class with him as well. He turned his head away as soon as our eyes met. “What’s his problem?” I murmured to myself, but Myra caught it and looked at him. “I think he realised what a s*xy girl he missed out on and now he is jealous.” Myra said, not so quietly, and I let out a laugh. “Don’t let your imagination run wild, he is with Jade. Why would he be jealous when it comes to me?” I waved her off and her nonsense and took my books out of my backpack. I tried to concentrate on the teacher because this subject is one of the two that we will still have an exam about, but I couldn’t when I nonstop felt his eyes on me. Before, I would jump for joy if he looked at me even briefly, and now he was starting at me, but I started to feel uncomfortable under his gaze. I can’t wait for the class to be over. When the bell rang, finally, I tried to pack my bag as fast as possible, but to my luck, I pushed my pencil case off of my table. ‘Great’. “Go ahead, I will catch up with you later.” I told Myra with a sigh and started to pick up my pens and pencils. She wanted to help me but suddenly changed her mind. “O-kay… see you later.” She said and left the classroom. Someone handed a few pencils to me and I looked up at the person to see Kevin in the front of me with a s*xy smile on his s*xy face. ‘What a hell Kylie, you have a boyfriend now.’ I scolded myself. “Here, you dropped these.” He said and my heart started to beat faster. 'What is wrong with me? I thought he wouldn’t have an effect on me anymore.' “Thanks.” I told him while I took them from his hand. “So, you and Ryker, huh?” He asked, he seemed nervous. “Is he nice to you?” He asked and his behaviour confused me a lot. “Yes, he is.” I answered timidly and he was still standing there like he wanted to say more. “Davis? Are you already hitting on my girl? We just started dating yesterday.” Ryker said from the door with a smug smile on his face, but I could see the hidden anger behind his green eyes. He walked towards us and helped me with the rest of my stuff. “I am not hitting on her, you don’t need to worry.” Kevin said while he rolled his eyes. “Good, you wouldn’t have a chance anyway, I just don’t want Jade on Kylie’s back.” Ryker said, and took my hand in his while we walked out of the classroom. I looked back apologetically towards Kevin and he gave me a small smile. He just tried to help after all. “Do you still have feelings for him?” Ryker asked in a whisper when we were by my locker. “No, I don’t, not anymore. Don’t worry. You are the one I like.” I told him but I am not sure if I totally forgot about Kevin. We talk about years of having a crush on him after all. I can’t just turn it off, but I am sure once we move to New York and spend more time with Ryker, I won’t even remember his name. “Good, because I like you too, a lot.” He said and pushed me against my locker while kissing me hungrily. 'This guy will be the death of me.'
