CHAPTER 31 The stunningly hot water of the baths in the balineum was having an effect on the deep ache in George’s abused leg. Alun told him no one used the baths in the middle of the afternoon, and he was relieved to find that true. The healed skin was still intact after the exertions today, but bright red in the heat, and the muscles were weak and painful. He hoped to avoid meeting anyone.
