CHAPTER 6 Unexpected Visitor

Early morning... Ariane prepares their breakfast and fixes their things. After setting up the table, she went to Jude's bedroom and woke him up.

"Good morning Cheeky Cheeks, time to wake?" Ariane said to her son while fetching him from his bed.

"Ummm Mom, I am still sleepy. Can you please call my teacher and inform her that I'll be absent for today'" Jude said to her mother while still hugging his big teddy bear stuffed toy.

Ariane said," No. We can't do that. You need to go to school and Mommy will go to the office okay."

She fetched Jude and send him to their bathroom already. They both have a quick bath before going down to the dining table.

They both enjoyed their breakfast and Jude said, " Mom don't forget the presentation for our Family Day this Saturday."

"Okay, I'll call your Uncle Rodel later so that we can prepare for it. What do you want? A dance presentation or we all sing a song?" she asked Jude.

Jude pointed his right finger on his temple as if thinking so deep. "Well, we can do both Mom, sing and dance together with costumes and props," Jude said to her mother excitedly.

"You are becoming so creative son," Ariane touches and messes up the hair of her son while saying this, "You really are like your mom haha."

After having their breakfast, the Mother and Son Tandem is now hurriedly heading to Ariane's car. They might be late if they will continue chasing each other.

Ariane drives her car and sends her son to school first. Her mobile phone is vibrating as if someone is calling her. She has a discipline of driving with a focus especially when her son is with her. She didn't pick up her mobile phone instead she said to Jude to seat properly instead.

"It's not work-related since my instruction with my staff to call me when it's 8 AM only," Ariane said to herself.

Ariane then continued driving. After reaching the school, "Behave in school son. I'll fetch you later okay," Ariane said to Jude while kissing his cheeky cheeks.

"Sure Mom but don't forget to plot our presentation for our Family Day okay," Jude reminded her.

"No worries son. Mommy will do my best okay," she gave assurance to her son.

"I love you, Mommy. Take care," Jude said to her while heading to his classroom.

"I love you more," Ariane then smiled with her son while waving goodbye.

Ariane then drive her car to her office building. Upon reaching it, she hurriedly brought her laptop and shoulder bag.

"Good morning Madam," Cathy smilingly greeted her.

"Good morning," Ariane replied. While walking to her room, her lady employees are quite giggling, as if there is someone there.

Ariane then has a sight of a handsome man who looked very familiar seating in their lobby.

She proceeds to her room first then calls Cathy. "Hi, Cath, who is the man over there? Is he the Wall of Asia's representative He is quite too early," said Ariane.

Cathy excitedly said," I think the flower is blooming."

"What did you say? I said who is he?" Ariane finds Cathy's words quite intriguing.

Cathy then said," He is your friend he said. He is Mr. Paulo Valencia."

Ariane has goosebumps all of a sudden. "What is he doing here?" she asked herself.

Cathy witnessed Ariane's reaction and she got confused. "Errr Madam, do you know him really?" she asked Ariane.

A moment of silence. Then Ariane replied," Well yes he was my former classmate. Send him in and prepare two cups of coffee please."

"Got it, Madam, I will serve those with two slices of Macadamia Cake as well," Cathy obediently said.

"Thank you," she said.

Cathy then went to Paulo to invite him inside Ariane's office.

"Sir Paulo, I will send you to Madam already," Cathy politely said to Paulo. "Oh my God, why is it there two Godly handsome men seeing Madam these past few days, I hope Madam can spare one for me, "Cathy said to herself while smiling.

Ariane's POV:

"Why is it he is here all of a sudden? I thought he is on board," she said to herself while retouching her lipstick and make-up. She even checked her wardrobe if it's okay.

"Hmmm, why is it I suddenly am conscious? He is just Paulo. Ariane, please behave," she advised herself while having goosebumps.

When the door opens, Ariane sets her eyes on her documents. She doesn't know why she is behaving this way all of a sudden.

"Hi Ariane, I am trying to call you a while ago but it seems that you are driving so I proceed here directly," Paulo smiles with her.

Ariane slowly meets Paulo's eyes while he is talking. She is quite amazed by how Paulo changed a lot. He is dumbly handsome and his teeth, wow he has a perfect smile. It is as though Ariane feels that she was in high school right now.

"Ariane?"Paulo asked her when he saw she's not moving.

"Aww, my apology Paulo. Honestly, I can't believe it's you. Why are you here? I thought you are still on board, "Ariane almost stammer while talking to him.

"Aren't you happy to see me, Ariane," Paulo asked while seating in front of Ariane. He is so excitedly seeing her. He would like to hug her tightly but he is controlling himself.

Ariane replied," No, actually I was just shocked seeing you early this morning here in my office knowing that you are onboard. Of course, I am happy." She stands and offers her hand to Paulo to shake.

Paulo stands also and reached her hand, but to Ariane's surprise, Paulo held her hand but embraced her. Ariane became dazed and can't react right away to his action.

"God, I've missed you. I've missed you so much Ariane," Paulo closely said to Ariane's ear. He can't control himself anymore. He even wants to kiss her but he doesn't want Ariane to suddenly avoid him.

It is as if time stops and both of them stayed in that position. Paulo hugged Ariane so tight while she was dazed and not moving at all. Ariane was stunned then closed her eyes to feel his embrace and smell his soothing manly fragrance. Until she realized then that they were both in her office, she slowly pushes Paulo and said, "Hey we are in my office," then she smiled at him

"I'm sorry Ariane I got carried away. I just missed you so much that's why," Paulo slowly releases Ariane from his embrace and goes back to his seat.

"I never felt this way before," Ariane said to herself. "I'll just leave you for a second, please wait for me here." She then went to the restroom and composed herself. She looked at the mirror and talked to herself, "Ariane, what's happening to you? It's just Paulo, your former classmate. Please behave well."

After 5 minutes she went back to her desk. That time, Cathy is serving their coffee and pastries already.

"Sir Paulo, please have some coffee," she said politely to Paulo.

"Thank you, Miss," Paulo said gratefully.

"I am Cathy Sir. Madam Ariane's Executive Assistant," she said.

"Nice meeting you Cathy," Paulo shook her hand.

Cathy reached accepted his handshake gigglingly. "Same with you Sir. I'll leave now," she said to Paulo when she saw Ariane's sharp look at her.

"Madam, I will go ahead," she smiled at Ariane. "Woooh, Madam might punch me later hehe," she said to herself while leaving Ariane's office.

"I am calling you awhile ago, but it seems that you are driving that's why I went straight here in your office. I hope you won't mind?"Paulo said to Ariane.

"Of course not, it's okay. Besides I am so happy to see you too," Ariane happily said to Paulo as if she is floating in the air.

It seems that both of them have a connection ---- connecting their past to present hmmmmm.

"Anyways I just dropped by straight from the airport. I came only this morning and since your office is quite near, I visited you first," Paulo said to her.

"So you haven't rest yet? I think you should you home first for your mother and rest okay," Ariane showed her concern to him while sipping her coffee.

"Yes, I will go ahead. Can I go to your place tonight, I want to meet your son as well. I have something for both of you," he asked permission from Ariane.

Ariane said "Okay, I will prepare dinner tonight in my apartment. See you then."

Paulo now stands and embraces her once again. "I'll go ahead, don't work too much. See you tonight," he said and kissed Ariane's cheek.

Ariane was quite shocked and her face flushed in red color. "Why is it I can't react with his actions, as if I like it also?" she asked herself.

Paulo slowly released Ariane from his embrace and leave with a smile. He waved his hand as a goodbye.

"Thanks for dropping by Paulo," Ariane said.

"See you tonight Ariane," he said then left.

After Paulo exit the door, Cathy came in .."Madam, Madam Oh my God!" she giggles while saying this to Ariane " Can you spare one to me please... First it was Mr. Lee now it's Sir Paulo," teased Cath.

"Well, what else can I say?" Ariane smiled at Cathy.

"There is no push to win between the two of them Madam, my Gosh!" Cathy excitedly shouts out.

Ariane signaled Cathy to keep her mouth shut, "Please keep quiet. You know gossip here in our office, they don't mind anybody," she said.

"Hmmn, almost all of the lady employees are not gossiping with you Madam, same with me, we are all excited for you so no need to worry at all," Cathy said.

Ariane then does her workload the whole day. After office hours she will fetch her son in his school.

Upon reaching Jude's school, the kid excitedly hopped into her car and kissed her mother.

"Hi Mommy, have you already plot our presentation?" he asked.

Ariane felt guilty because she almost forgot it since she had an unexpected visitor this morning.

"Ahm we will talk about it tonight son. By the way, your Tito Paulo will visit us tonight," she said to her son.

Ariane then thought that she can probably ask Paulo to help her with their presentation for Jude's Family Day this coming Saturday. Besides he is her childhood friend and she is somehow at ease with Paulo.

"Who is Tito Paulo by the way, Mom? I don't think I know him," Jude asked her.

Ariane said, "He was my childhood friend's son. He just came from abroad and will visit us. He wants to know you."

"Know me? Why? Is he pursuing you, Mom?" Jude straightly asked her.

"He will just visit us. Don't assume anything else," she smiled at her son. She knows how her son is thinking.

Jude became silent after Ariane said that until they reached their apartment. Jude is not talking to her.

"Son are you angry?"Ariane asked her son.

"Nope, I am just thinking about you, The other night, your business partner sent you home and tonight your childhood friend will visit you. Perhaps it's the right time Mom for you to be happy and have a partner," he smiled with her.

Ariane was shocked. Is her son a 7-year-old boy or an adult? Talking about these matters with her is really shocking, even though she knows that her son is quite matured compared with his age.

It seems that her son is happy for her.

"By the way Mom, I will be the one to interrogate them both okay. I have to make sure that whoever will be your partner, will be the best Daddy for me too," he excitedly said.

"I said don't assumed yet my son," she messed his hair while going inside their apartment.

"I will prepare dinner for the three of us. Please do behave while your Tito Paulo is here okay," Jude nodded. "Go upstairs and change your clothes now," Ariane happily said to her son.

Jude's POV:

"Well, I need to prepare some questions for Tito Paulo," he said to himself. After changing his clothes, he gets his pencil and started to write some questions to be raised later on. He is so excited.

Ariane then change her clothes and started to prepare a sumptuous dinner for the three of them. She is quite excited also about Paulo's presence. It is as if they have just seen each other last month, though their last encounter was when they were just in elementary days.
