(Clara’s point of view. )

“Would you like to dance?” Goliath asks me with his hand out, waiting for me to take it.

“Absolutely.” I can’t help but smile knowing I get to be close to him.

I take his hand, and he leads me to the dance floor. There are a few people dancing, but it feels like we are the only two in the room. He wraps his arms around my waist, and I put my hands up on his shoulders. The music is slow and romantic, really setting the tone of the room. We rock back and forth, looking into each other’s eyes.

“You look so beautiful.” He tells me softly.

“Thank you.”

“Clara I know this is only our second date, but I have fallen for you hard.”

“Goliath I feel the same way about you.”

He stops moving, and we just stand there looking at each other.

“Clara there is something I need to ask you.” He doesn’t wait for a response reaching into his pocket and taking out a little white box. He opens it, and there is a sweet little charm bracelet that has two wolf charms with a diamond heart charm between them. It looks so beautiful that I almost can’t look away.

“Clara will you accept me as your mate and be our Luna?”

“yes!” I don’t even have to think about it. The Luna part is a bit scary, but I know I have his support. He put the charm bracelet around my wrist, and it fits perfectly. I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him. He pulls back and looks deep in my eyes as I look in his.

“Let’s make this official.”

“How do we do that?

Just repeat after me, but use your own name. I nod my head, letting him know I understand.

“I Alpha Goliath Throttle accept you Clara Smith as my mate.”

“I Clara Smith accept you Alpha Goliath Throttle as my mate.” I feel a surge of energy rush through my heart, and I feel a spark of love I have never felt before. Goliath puts his hand on the back of my head and brings me in for a kiss. When he let’s go, a bunch of people started cheering and clapping, making me confused and slightly embarrassed that we were being watched.

“None of you can talk about this until after tomorrow got it.” Goliath yells to the room.

“Got it, Alpha!” they all say together and go back to what they were doing.

Goliath looks at me." I want to be able to announce that I found my mate to my pack before they hear it secondhand from these guys." He explains to me.

We danced for a little longer before heading back to the pack house. Jack also asked Wendy to be his mate, and she said yes, of course. The entire ride back, she played with her promise ring that he got her. We got inside, and they decided to race up the stairs, leaving Goliath and I alone.

I decided to break the silence between us as we stood in front of the elevator.

“Goliath I still haven’t got a good look at your room yet. Maybe you can give me a little tour of it.”

“Oh yeah, why don’t we head up there now.” He says with a smirk and a wink.

We get on the elevator, and he pushes the button. He turns and kisses me on my lips. I start to moan as he grabs my hips and pulls me close to him. My entire body feels like it is vibrating under his touch. When the elevator stops, we pull apart, gasping for air. He grabs my hand, leading me to his room.

Out of nowhere, my stomach starts growling again. I stop and put my hand on it. “Sorry I guess I am still hungry.” I say with embarrassment.

“Go ahead into the room. I will grab some snacks real quick.”

He gives me a kiss and runs down the stairs, not wanting to wait for the elevator. I feel awkward going into his room without him. It feels like I am intruding on his privacy. At the same time, he must have a mirror, and if I hurry, I can freshen up a little before he gets back. I turn the door knob and pull his door open. It is a very heavy door and must be soundproof because there is some romantic music coming out of the room now. Did he forget to turn it off? As I take steps in, I see rose petals covering the floor, and the room is lit by candlelight. How did he set this up so fast? Did he know I would come back to his room all along?

“ Hey there sexy!” I about jump out of my skin and flip on the light switch next to me.

“YOU!!”

“YOU!”

We both yell at the same time. I cover my eyes after I see my worst nightmare wearing nothing but see-through lingerie while laying on the bed.

“Vivian what are you doing here?”

“What do you mean what am I doing here. Goliath is my chosen mate, and we are deeply in love.”

I uncover my eyes and look at her in complete shock.

“What’s wrong, trailer trash? Did you think you could sneak in here and beg him for money or something?”

I was starting to lose my grip. I know I should be taking my anger out at her, but my head was starting to fill up with self-doubt.

“Nnn.. nno Goliath is my mate. My true mate.” Her face started to scrunch up, but she got out of bed and started looking at herself in the mirror for a moment.

“Even if you are his true mate, he could never be with a stupid human girl. An ugly poor one at that. He probably just brought you back here so he can reject you in front of me, and we can laugh about it together.”

My heart began to sink into my stomach. There is no way that could be true, right? I keep thinking back to our date, and every word he has ever said to me, it all seemed genuine at the time. I feel my legs begging to shake.

“YOU don’t know what you are talking about, Vivian.”

“Oh, I don’t do I!” “Look at yourself, Clara. Even all dressed up, you aren’t half the woman I am. You would be a terrible Luna and everyone would just see you as a weak gold digging slut. You would be the worst Luna in history and Goliath would see it and reject you.” I looked in the mirror behind her and started to see every flaw. I am still a bag of bones who looks sickly and malnourished despite being dressed up. I already have insecurities about being a Luna. What if they won’t accept me or even worse I get people killed. I feel a tear roll down my face. I look at her, and her face breaks out in a huge smile.

“ Just look at this way, Clara. I took Drake away from you last time, but at least this time, I had the man before you even had a chance. You won’t have to be embarrassed this time if you just leave before he gets back.” She shrugs her shoulder like it wouldn't be a big deal for me to just go.

Her words echo through my head. Every word stabbing my heart like a sword. (CRASH) We both look over, and there is a broken glass bowl of fruit on the floor, and when I look up, Goliath is standing between us facing her.

“Viv you are the one who needs to leave, not her.”

“Goliath honey, you said you loved me after we made love. We lost our virginity together. We would make perfect mates..”

“We will never be mates, Vivian.” He snarls at her.

I feel like I am going to puke, and my adrenaline is starting to pick up. I grab Goliath by the arm and swing him around.

“Did you sleep with her.” Is all I can get through the tears that are falling now.

He puts his hand on the back of his neck. “Well it’s not like that.” I look over, and Vivian looks even more crazed with an excited smile across her face. I can’t take anymore. As soon as he looks back at her, I run for it. I get into my room and slam and lock the door shut. I start to lose all control and sob with my back against the door. I can feel slight vibrations, but I can’t hear anything. I curl up into a ball on the floor and try to calm myself. Please let this not be true. I love him. I stop crying and sit up. “I love him!” I whisper to myself, clutching my heart. I feel the charm bracelet digging into my chest, so I pull my arm away and look at it.

(Clara, please come out and talk to me.) The voice makes me jump at first, but I follow the sound back to the intercom system by the door. I don’t know what to say or do?
