Noah
I hated it when things didn’t go my way, I hated it when people didn’t do what I wanted, first of all dear daddy.
I had not taken into account that the moment would come when he decided to take a new wife, I had been foolish and deluded, although I was well aware of the hatred he felt towards me and my brother.
It was never new. Ethan and I were aware of that since we were kids, ever since he tried to mold us the way he wanted, to make us exactly like him, but we weren’t, our mother wouldn’t allow it.
We had been the biggest failure for Alexander Williams, and I knew he would never let us get our hands on the family business.
I should have expected him to eventually find a way around us to get what he really wanted.
Because Alexander was not an i***t, oh no. He wanted other heirs, but he would not have them with any woman, no, he needed a woman who was worth it, who could actually give him a profit as well as an heir.
And Sophie O'Kelly was the perfect woman for his plans.
Alexander would have a woman, beautiful in my opinion, and a young woman who could give him as many children as he wanted and who had a not indifferent inheritance.
Son of a b***h.
I rolled my shoulders, letting them crack loudly as I walked barefoot through the attic. That night I decided to stay there, I wanted to study the situation, I wanted to see how she and my father behaved. Sophie O'Kelly.
The little girl with the doe eyes always seemed on the verge of crying. The night before, she had stood next to Alexander all the time, dragged as a trophy for Alexander, his eyes were lost, and you could see how out of place he was.
What I was wondering was why a girl like her agreed to marry our son of a b***h father.
She was certainly not in love, much less for happiness that I had seen how unhappy that girl was. So why? What had prompted you to leave your long life to be next to a man who might be your father?
I took the glass of bourbon to my lips and sipped some amber liquid.
I had my dogs searching for information about Sophie O'Kelly, and at that moment, I was waiting for them to send me the file with everything I needed.
Sophie.
I thought.
When I saw her, I was extremely struck by her beauty. Those grey doe eyes that seemed lost everywhere she went; that screaming body with that f*****g dress that wrapped them perfectly every single curve, placed at the right point; the angelic face with those lips that made you want to kiss her so much that you passed out from lack of oxygen.
I wondered what she was doing with someone like my father, she was a waste of beauty for that man.
I went to the window facing the balcony and found it open, the curtain was moved by the light night breeze that entered.
Nobody moved at night, nobody had to move at night without me knowing.
And I knew he wasn’t my dad, he wasn’t back yet, and he was definitely busy f*****g his assistant somewhere. My brother had decided to return to our penthouse. The only person in that house who remained was the little helpless doe.
I wandered around like a shadow, entering the balcony that revolved around the entire building where the attic was. I went where the deckchairs were, and she heard a soft voice.
"No, I’m fine," she said, I turned the corner and hid behind a plant while I laid my eyes on her.
Sophie O'Kelly was sitting on a deck chair with her legs bent. He was wearing silk pajamas, a light tank top and, a pair of shorts, a blue silk robe. My long, bare legs immediately caught my eye. I was a man at the end of the fair, and I couldn’t deny that this woman attracted me. From the first moment I saw her, it was difficult to look elsewhere, my attention had remained completely focused on her, I had found myself drawn to her, so much so that I followed her into the bathroom like a f*****g stalker.
When I heard her puke, it all came crashing down on me, the reality that that gorgeous-looking, mind-blowing girl gave her body to my father. Without my control, my head was immediately invaded by images of her with my father, naked in bed. The old man’s dirty hands were on that fabulous body, and I just wanted to smash something.
I had a terrible rage that I couldn’t control, so I attacked her, accused her, and took her so unawares that I almost regretted everything I told her.
But when she said she wasn’t sleeping with him, I couldn’t help but feel relief.
I looked at her enchanted. Her blond hair was loose, a waterfall of gold covered her shoulders, her eyes were focused on the city's skyline, and she had a sad look.
Why are you sad, princess? I thought, looking at her.
"The house is nice," he said, staring at the void, "But we won’t be here for long, apparently, Mr. Williams has a house outside of town, a mansion, and he wants us to be there," she sighed, and I frowned.
"I’m fine, Dad," he said, "What’s important now is you, did he give you what you need," she asked in a concerned tone, "Then it was worth it," she said after a moment of silence, "It’s not a sacrifice for me, you know I would do anything for you, Dad," continued, then she listened to what he said.
"I hope to see you soon, too," she said, and I saw her close her eyes, her face full of pain "Listen now, I have to go to sleep, I’ll call you tomorrow, okay?" she said, "I love you, too, Dad," and then she hung up.
She put the phone next to her and sighed, bringing her knees to her chest and looking ahead.
I saw a tear coming down her cheek, and I felt something tightening inside of me, so I decided to pretend nothing, and I came out of the shadow as if nothing had happened, and I went towards the railing, avoiding looking at her.
I put my elbows on the railing and swirled the glass in my hand.
"How long have you been here?" she asked.
"I didn’t know anyone was here," I said, lying.
"I’ll leave you alone," he said, getting up.
"Are you afraid of something?" I asked her, looking over her shoulder.
She froze and sighed, then walked over and stood next to me, "Just insults," she sighed.
"It’s not an insult if it’s true," I pointed out.
"And that’s why it hurts," she said, shaking her head.
"So you admit you’re only here for the money?" I asked, looking out of the corner of my eye.
"I never said otherwise," she shrugged, and I laughed.
"True," I said, "But that doesn’t change things."
"Why do you hate me so much?" she suddenly asked, "Because will I take your mother’s place?" she asked again.
"I would not wish that fate even to my worst enemy," I answered without being able to control myself and saw how stiff it was.
"Is it so terrible?" she asked, looking ahead.
"You’re always in time to run away," I said, "I wouldn’t blame you, and I’d be happy," lie.
She laughed bitterly and took my glass out of my hand, swallowing everything with one sip and then looking at me and giving me back my glass.
"I wish it were that easy," she replied and then walked away and walked back to the open window. She laid a hand on the glass and then turned to look at me with her blue doe eyes that made my knees tremble immediately.
"Good night, Noah," she said softly, then turned around and left.
I watched for a long time when she was gone, and I couldn’t actually do anything else.
I should have told her the worst things, to make her f*****g leave, that was my job! Getting rid of what was my pawn, but seeing her at the time seemed like a d**k move. I didn’t want to make her life miserable, I didn’t want to see her sad, and that was the real problem.
The phone vibrated in my pocket, and I took it, reading the message from my dogs.
We have the information.
