Chapter 12

Mason pov

I never knew I would be the one that would be telling my mate that her father wasn't really her father, but she wanted the the truth, and the best way to earn her trust is not lying, she's already been lied to all her life, she's going to feel like she had lived a double life all her life, when I walked back into the room and stopped when I saw her sitting up, and then she asked me the question I was dreading for her to ask, "So what did you find out and do not lie to me," I took a deep breath, "I talked to Alpha Jack again, before he continued he walked over to sit beside her, and took her hands in his, Caroline this is going to be hard to tell you, but you need to know this, he took a deep breath and started telling her what Alpha Jack had told him everything to the last detail when Husk took her home to raise her as his own, Alpha Jack told me to tell you that he was sorry, all he wanted was to keep you safe, it's the reason why he acted the way he did, and for your father Husk, don't be mad at him, he was only doing what your parents asked him to do. Caroline sat on the edge of the bed listening to Mason, she really didn't know what to believe. She's been lied to all her life and now something else has come up. She held her head down for a few minutes, then looked up at Mason, "well I guess that explains why I never saw any photos of my mother around the house, I've asked my dad about it. He said that he took them all down because it only made him miss her more, so Alpha Jack knew as well, I think I need to find my so called werecat family, I don't know how long I have before my shift, so I need to find out about my real family life," Mason agreed, he knew he had several numbers to several Alpha werecats, he took her hand, "come on let's go to my office, they went down the elevator then went to his office, come over here with me, we have a few phone calls to make," 

"What do you mean?" Caroline I have numbers to a few Alpha werecats, they might know something, I'll put it on speaker just in case you want to ask any questions,' she was scared and nervous at the same time, but she knew she had to find out something. So that's what they did, he had over twenty numbers, and most did not even have members missing, they got down to the last two, Alright I have two more To go Alpha Forest. And Alpha Woods, let's call Alpha Woods first. She took a deep breath and then nodded, "alright let's get this done and over with, if we don't find anything, I'll be ok with that, at least we tried, he dialed Alpha Woods first, the phone rung a few times and then it was answered, Alpha Mason, it's been a long time, what can I do for you. Wait, are you going to ask about Caroline's family, I know of a pack that might know something, Alpha Forest he's the oldest cat around, do you know his number?" "Yeah I do, but how did you know I was calling you for that?"   "Well Mason when a werewolf starts calling around talking to other werecats about a werecat, word gets around, call Alpha Forest, he might know some information,"    "alright thanks Alpha Woods." They hung up, he looked at Caroline, "are you ready for this, she nods yes, "yes let's get this over with,"  he dialed the last number he knew Forest was the oldest werecat around, he survived so many battles even when humans had tried killing them off, but the new law was, if any Human kills a werecat the human will face their family and will be killed, he listened for it to ring when Alpha Forest answered "hello Alpha Mason, I've been waiting for you to call. I've heard you are wondering about Caroline's family, I don't want to say anything over the phone, but if you don't mind I would like to come and visit and see Caroline" 

He looked over at Caroline and she nodded yes, "Yes,Alpha Forest, that would be alright, when will we be expecting you?" "How about tomorrow I'll be bringing her brother with me so they can meet," Caroline was stunned. "My brother, I have a brother?" "Yes Caroline you have a brother, would you like to talk to him? He's right here with me. When we heard Alpha Mason was calling around asking questions, he came to my office to wait for the call. But before she could answer, her brother spoke, "Caroline, this is your brother Chris, listen I have so much to tell you, but we will see each other tomorrow, she couldn't say anything she was just still too stunned to hear his voice, so she wasn't alone after all, but she didn't dare say that out loud, she knew she had Mason, but now she had her brother as well, when they hung up, she looked over a Mason, her face had a huge smile on her face, "I need to get to cooking," "oh you know how to cook?",, "Yes, yes I do, come on you can help.
